Second Sunday of Easter (Sunday of Devine Mercy) Save the Date 25th Annual Bishop William Johnson Council Charity Golf Tournament Hosted by the Santiago's Knights of Columbus Council 9487
This event is open to all parishioners, families, and friends. The tournament this year has changed venue and will be Sunday June 11th with a 1pm shotgun start at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita. This year we will have an exciting communitywide raffle involving a ball drop from a helicopter! For more information please contact Al Gamarra
[email protected] or 714-697-8322. Also there will be a sign up table after all masses starting Saturday May 20th. Why Tithe with Envelopes or ParishPay? Why is it important to actually use envelopes (or ParishPay) to make your weekly contributions rather than just putting cash into the collection basket? Because somewhere down the line you will probably come to the parish in need of contribution verification, especially for income taxes purposes or to qualify for Catholic Tuition Rates at your child’s Catholic School. We are able to track weekly donations only when our parishioners use their envelopes or utilize electronic fund transfer through ParishPay. Loose cash or checks do not get posted to our database. To have your tithing documented please be sure to use either the envelopes or ParishPay so we may properly record your contribution to the parish. When including a check in the donation envelope, please write your envelope number (which is also your Parish ID number) in the memo line of your check, as well as list the check number on the envelope. Thank you for your assistance and God bless you for your continued generosity.
St. Vincent de Paul Second Collection April 30th On April 29th and 30th we are having a second collection for Santiago’s St. Vincent de Paul ministry. 100% of your generous donations help our parishioners and their families in financial need, within the church’s boundaries. We continue to assist our parish families in crisis with rental and utility assistance, but the need is great and continues to grow. Thank you for your generous support in the past. We cannot operate without you.

These people do NOT need your help, In fact, they are very wealthy. These people bring their small children and/or their pregnant wives and have them stand in the hot sun or the cold rain asking for money from people with big hearts. We have been advised to not give them money and avoid any contact with them as they are violent towards anyone who disrupts their “business”. We have also been notified to contact Lake Forest PD .

23 April 2017 My Dearest Parish Family, God be with us always. A Blessed and Happy Feast Divine Mercy to all.
I appreciate how in her own way Malaika was able to write these rules; that if applied and followed in one’s life can bring meaning to what we do, what we plan for to achieve and what we also accept from life. We have just ended our Lenten Journey and began our Easter Adventure both of which are suffused with our Loving Father’s Unconditional Love. Each day try to apply one or two of the rules and see what happens. Keep Rule No. 10 from and center of your life and living that I am sure which produce so much goodness that others can share. God bless and take care.
Last March, I presided on the Celebration of Life of one of our parishioners, Joseph Love and prayers, Carvalho. His grand daughter Malaika delivered the Eulogy that I think is a meaningful reflection of a life that reflects the gift of faith, hope, love and Fr. Thomas recognizes the precious gift of the everlasting-life. It also in a different ways of expressing what it means in a practical way to live as Children of the Easter morn and devotees of the Jesus the Divine Mercy. Malaika shared the Ten Rules on how to live which she learned from her Papa (this was how she referred to her Grandpa during the Eulogy). I just included here some salient points so you can see how it validates what I mention in the preceding paragraph. Here are the Ten Rules: Be Happy : “ . . . He is pain free and enjoying a much better place with Jesus and all the saints.” Think of others.
23 de abril de 2017
Be on time. Be present Take a minute to dance Enjoy life to the Fullest Take time to smell the roses Be adventurous Let your action speak louder than words Love unconditionally: “ . . . Papa thank you for teaching me through your actions what true love is. I will miss you.”
3. Estar a tiempo 4. Estar presente 5.
Amor y Oraciones,
Fr. Thomas
