Good Friday Collection A Holy Land Collection Christians around the world are united in a special way during Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. Our hearts, minds, and prayers are also especially aware of the Holy Land. Our parish, once a year on Good Friday, is called on to support Christians, the Living Stones of the Holy Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend on this collection for their well-being. As a pontifical collection requested by Pope Francis, the annual Good Friday Collection offers a direct link for parishioners to be witnesses of peace and to help protect the Holy Places. When you donate on Good Friday, you are also supporting Christians in the Holy Land. Franciscans and others in the Holy Land are housing and feeding the poor, providing religious formation and education, maintaining shrines and parishes, and conducting pastoral ministry. This event is open to all parishioners, families, and friends. The tournament this year has changed venue and will be Sunday June 11th with a 1pm shotgun start at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita. Also there will be a sign up table after all masses starting Saturday May 20th. Why Tithe with Envelopes or ParishPay? Why is it important to actually use envelopes (or ParishPay) to make your weekly contributions rather than just putting cash into the collection basket? Because somewhere down the line you will probably come to the parish in need of contribution verification, especially for income taxes purposes or to qualify for Catholic Tuition Rates at your child’s Catholic School. We are able to track weekly donations only when our parishioners use their envelopes or utilize electronic fund transfer through ParishPay. Loose cash or checks do not get posted to our database. To have your tithing documented please be sure to use either the envelopes or ParishPay so we may properly record your contribution to the parish. St. Vincent de Paul Second Collection April 29th and 30th On April 29th and 30th we are having a second collection for Santiago’s St. Vincent de Paul ministry. 100% of your generous donations help our parishioners and their families in financial need, within the church’s boundaries. We have been advised to not give them money and avoid any contact with them as they are violent towards anyone who disrupts their “business”. Enter the contest to create the 2017 Camino de Santiago T-Shirt and win a free registration, a t-shirt that you designed and $50. Your creation can be the face of the 2017 Camino de Santiago. Don't forget to include key elements of the Camino like the arrows, shell, Camino cross, rocks, and/or elements of our own church, etc. Deadline and more information to follow. Zumba Class - New Time and Location! Zumba Class will start on Monday, May 1st from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Rooms J and K in the Parish Hall. This class is for adults 18 years and older, led by parishioner and Zumba Instructor, Maria Rodriguez, and will meet every other Monday. GRUPO DEL ROSARIO Ahora nuestra comunidad de Santiago de Compostela tiene un grupo de oración en español que es devoto al rezo del Rosario. Ven a la Capilla del Santísimo todos los lunes a las 7 pm y acompáñanos a rezar el Rosario por las intenciones de todas nuestras familias. ¡Te esperamos! REGOCIJÉMONOS Y ALEGRÉMONOS “¡Este es el día en que actuó el Señor: sea nuestra alegría y nuestro gozo!” (Salmo 118:24). Recordemos que estas palabras del salmo responsorial de hoy no sólo brotan del corazón de los que están reunidos en nuestra parroquia. También son cantadas por los pobres en pequeños barrios de toda América Central y Sudamérica. Son cantadas por aquellos a los que se les niega la libertad religiosa en nuestro mundo; estos cristianos elevan sus voces en lugares de culto clandestinos. Son cantadas por personas que han perdido seres queridos a manos del terrorismo y la guerra alrededor del mundo. April 16, 2017 CONFIRMACIÓN DE ADULTOS ¿Eres adulto de 18 años o más, has sido bautizado en la Fe Católica pero aún no has sido Confirmado? Te invitamos a participar de la clase para prepárate a recibir el sacramento de Confirmación el día de Pentecostés. Las clases inician el 20 de abril y serán los jueves a las 7 de la noche (el primer día se comenzará a las 6 pm). Las inscripciones estarán abiertas a partir del domingo 2 de abril de 3 pm a 6 pm, solo necesitas tu certificado de bautismo, una donación de $85 y un padrino, quien debe ser un católico practicante. Grupo de Oración Cristo Rey El grupo de oración Cristo Rey te invita a la noche de alabanza y oración este próximo viernes 21 de abril de 2017. Nuestras reuniones comienzan con la Santa Misa a las 6:30 pm.

Bodas Comunitarias Las próximas Bodas Comunitarias serán el sábado 17 de junio de 2017. Costo: $150 (incluye el retiro y la ceremonia) Y el retiro de parejas, será el: domingo 7 de mayo de 2017, de 9 am a 5 pm. Este retiro también se estará ofreciendo para las parejas que deseen participar y quieran un cambio positivo en sus relaciones como matrimonio.
