Third Sunday of Advent JMJ 11 December, 2016 My Dearest Parish Family, God be with us always. This Sunday, the priests will be wearing the “Rose” colored vestments (well, some say pink), to signify that this is Gaudete Sunday – a day where we highlight the Joyful aspect of this Season. The past week we have had more than enough reasons to be full of joy. We had a wonderful Noel Night where we reflected, listened, sang and watched the unfolding story of the Christmas. Last Sunday we had a Blessing of our “Newly” Registered Parishioners at Mass and then had a wonderful orientation & fellowship at the Parish Hall. Thank you to all who made this event a success and was there to support it. I have asked our Bulletin Editor to use the remaining space to highlight the pictures that hold a thousand ways of
We look forward this coming to week to celebrate the Feast of our Diocesan Patroness Our Lady of Guadalupe this December 12 – Monday. “Viva Nuestra Madre – La Virgen de Guadalupe! Que Viva!” God bless and take care. Love and prayers,

2016-17 Religious Education Blankets! Blankets! Blankets! Our local homeless shelter, The Catholic Worker Isaiah House, has an immediate need, and YOU can help in this Work of Mercy! “Cold nights are especially hard on our homeless friends,” they said, and wondered if our parish could donate some twin-size warm blankets. Blankets could be brand new (a real treat for someone who never gets gifts)—or used blankets, clean and in good shape. Please bring them into our Religious Education Department now thru Christmas, and we will make sure they get delivered. As a donating family, pray for the person who will receive your gift. They will thank you in their hearts. May God bless your generosity, Gloria Fetta.

Marian Exhibit December 8th and 19th Since December of 2014, our Advent Marian Exhibit has grown with various statues and works of art of Our Blessed Mother, in all of her representations, from the private collections of Fr. Thomas and many Santiago parishioners, but there is always room for more! This year we have moved out of the Santiago Room and into a larger venue in the Lecture Hall. If you would like to share your own personal images or statues of Mother Mary, we would be thrilled to add them to our display. To make arrangements, contact Lyanamar Medina at
[email protected] or at Ext. 239.
Friends in Faith We are a ministry for Adults with Special Needs. We celebrate our faith by prayer, music and crafts. While refreshments are served, it is a great time to socialize with our participants. Everyone leaves the evening nourished spiritually and bodily. We will be starting our fifth year this September. We meet every 3rd Tuesday (December 20th) of the month, September through June, at 6:30pm in the parish hall. Contact Kathleen Collins at 949-230-4424 or Dottie Gannon at 949-689-3020. If you know of anyone who would like to be part of this ministry, please call us. Thank you for your support and prayers.
Bible Study is preparing to celebrate the Advent Season, awaiting the coming of our Savior, with its annual Christmas Pot Luck this week. People whose last names begin with A-L furnish our feast, and M-Z help with a donation for our charity this year. As part of Religious Education, we would like to participate with them in helping Isaiah House in Santa Ana. This is the last class of 2016 and we look forward to the New Year, continuing our study of Women of the Old Testament on January 4th. May you have a blessed Christmas Season filled with the gifts of the Christ Child; peace, joy and love. For further information, please call Nancy at 949-766-8126 or Barb at 949-768-1170.
