St. Stephen’s News

The GOOD NEWS….in 3rd Grade: At St. Stephen we all believe it is very important to serve others. One way we do this in third grade is by visiting Glenwood Springs Healthcare (formally known as Grace Nursing Home). When we visit there, it is such a humbling experience. These students truly enjoy their time spent visiting with the residents or helping them create a craft. Here is what the students have to say about Glenwood Springs Healthcare (GSH). Emory – I love going to GSH because when I get there my heart skips a beat. It is amazing to visit the elderly. I think they love to have company and look forward for us to come visit them. Yvette – What I love about GSH is I like being kind all the time and I like visiting there so I can make their day happy. Elijah – What I love about GSH is that they love having us come because I think they don’t usually have visitors. Morgan – What I love about GSH is that I get to see those who are in need. Some of these residents forget some of their memories so we give them new memories to enjoy! Alice – What I love about GSH is that they are nice to us and we are nice to them. Also I feel the residents at GSH love it when we visit because many of their family is not close by so we help them to not feel lonely. Finn – What I love about GSH is that we get to meet people who are lonely and they like it when we visit them. I like it when we sing them a song. Anthony – I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH because they don’t get to see their children that much. I can tell them my feelings and they like to listen and I love doing that. Xiadani – What I love about GSH is I like meeting new people. I feel the residents at GSH love it when I visit. Kaylee – What I love about GSH is that I get to talk with the elderly. Why I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH is because they feel happy and joyful that we are there to visit them. Kate – What I love about GSH is the people are sweet. Why I feel it’s important that we visit those at GSH is because they deserve to be visited and are so kind. Brianda – Why I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH is because the people there seem lonely and we want to help them and talk with them. Noah – Why I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH is that they don’t get a lot of visitors so they might be lonely and they like it when we come. Gianna – Why I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH is because I like to make their day special and they are really kind. Zoe – What I love about GSH is that they love seeing us and we love them see them. Lorena – What I love about GSH is looking at the elderly people and singing to them. Why I feel it’s important to visit those at GSH is so we can learn about them too. Hayden – I feel the residents at GSH love it when we visit them because we sing to them and make them feel warm inside.
