CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK SUNDAY, JANUARY 29th through FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd Here is the schedule at a glance for the week: Saturday & Sunday: Students and parents will be reading a short message at all of the masses at St. Stephen’s to kick off Catholic Schools Week, followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus for a free will donation! Monday, Jan. 30th: Kick Off Day  Dress up as your favorite book character  Enrollment kick-off for the 2017-2018 school year!! Lunes, 30 de enero: Primer Día Los niños se pueden vestir como su personaje de libro favorito. Inicio de inscripción para el año escolar 2017-2018. Martes, 31 de enero: Día de Apreciación (Escuela y Parroquia) Día de desastre de moda Lonche de Apreciación - Padres de familia cubren la comida de los niños y el recreo. Miércoles, 1 de Febrero Los estudiantes pueden vestirse como gusten apropiadamente para la escuela. SSPTA Volunteer Needs Please receive our most sincere gratitude for your consistent support. We have several volunteer opportunities coming up. If you can find the time to help, please contact Julie Helms at [email protected]. When you are active in the education of your child, not only helping them but other students, you become an active participant to our positive and loving environment! Help us be agents of change….we can do this together!

 Lunch & Recess Duty Volunteers: We are still looking for parent volunteers to help with Lunch Room and Lunch Recess duties. The time commitment for this request is one hour of your time, one day a week.  Catholic Schools Week...we are looking for parent help for the following events:  Tuesday, Jan. 31st—School and Parish Staff Appreciation Luncheon 12pm –1pm: We are looking for parent volunteers to help host our appreciation luncheon.  We are asking each family to donate $5 to cover the costs of food and drinks for the luncheon. Your donation can be given to Ms. Arahana in the front office.  We need one person to help set up the luncheon  We need one person to help with the clean up from the luncheon  We need Lunch room and Recess duty help so teachers can enjoy their lunch. We need 3 parent volunteers for recess duty and 2 parent volunteers for lunchroom duty. This could be the same person, if you can kindly give an hour of your day.  This is a hot lunch day, so we need a parent volunteer to help with the serving and overseeing of our middle school helpers  Thursday, Feb. 2nd: Family Fun Night and Open House—we need parent ambassadors to help greet new families who are wanting to see what our school has to offer and help answer questions. Bring your family for FREE pizza and play some games, all while promoting our school during the Family Fun Night and Open House. ———————————————————————-

La Escuela San Esteban pide su ayuda Les damos las mas sinceras gracias por su ayuda constante. Tenemos varios eventos programados y pedimos su ayuda en apoyar a sus hijos. Recuerde cuando es activo en la educación de sus hijos es un participante de nuestro ambiento amoroso y positivo. Hagámoslo juntos!  Voluntarios durante el recreo y comida: Este compromiso regularmente es una hora (12pm—1pm) durante una vez a la semana.

 Semana Celebrando las Escuelas Publicas: En cualquiera de los eventos abajo agradecemos su ayuda.  Martes, 31 de Enero—Comida de Apreciación del Maestro Si puede donar $5 para el lonche celebrando los maestros por favor de dárselos a Arahana en la oficina escolar.  Una persona que pueda ayudar con acomodar la comida ese día.  Una persona que ayude con la limpieza.  Personas que puedan ayudar con el recreo y supervisar los niños durante el lonche.  Personas que puedan ayudar servir el lonche a los niños.

Jueves, 2 de febrero: Noche Familiar y Casa Abierta— ocupamos familias disponibles para recibir las familias que quieren aprender mas sobre la escuela. Por favor invite a sus familiares y amigos interesados en la escuela. Habrá comida y juegos para los niños. Todos son bienvenidos.

THE GOOD NEWS …… in Pre-School: The children at St. Stephen Preschool have certainly enjoyed themselves these past few weeks. A winter wonderland of snowmen, sledding and catching snowflakes on our tongues.

A BIG SHOUT OUT TO MRS. DEBBIE COOK…. Wednesday night Mrs. Debbie Cook was honored by the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) for her positive contributions to women’s sports on the Western Slope and for her years of coaching. We are honored to have her be such a big part of our St. Stephen’s family. Her love and energy show through with each and every student she has in P.E. Congratulations Mrs. Cook for being inducted into the class of 2016 CHSAA Coaches Hall of Fame!!
