~ REFLECTION ~ “This is my body,” we hear in today’s Gospel. “This is my blood.” When we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, the sacrifice Jesus made of his own body and blood, the sacrifice we are all invited to share, we receive the Body and Blood that are truly Christ’s own. Then, nourished by his Body and Blood, we are called to go forth as the body of Christ, carrying forward his mission in the world today. ~ REFLEXION ~ “Esto es mi cuerpo”; “ésta es mi sangre”, dice Jesús en el Evangelio de hoy. Cuando nos reunimos para celebrar la Eucaristía, o sea, el sacrificio que hizo Jesús de su propio cuerpo y de su sangre, y al cual todos estamos invitados a compartir, recibimos el Cuerpo y la Sangre del mismo Cristo. Y así, alimentados con su Cuerpo y Sangre, se nos llama a salir como cuerpo de Cristo llevando su misión al mundo entero.

Many teens will get their first job while still in high school. Building a work ethic is a great and necessary skill, but teens need to be informed to about how best to handle possible workplace violence. Coworkers are not always thoroughly screened, and your teen could face another employee’s rage or anger that could possible put them in danger. Talk to your teens about warning signs— short tempers, intimidation, drug use—and about how to remove themselves when they feel unsafe in a situation, and how to report any concerns they have, to a safe adult.
