~ REFLECTION ~

God has invited us to this banquet today in order to remind us of our invitation to the heavenly banquet. We each received our invitation at our baptism. What have you done with your invitation? Have you set it aside? Lost it? Are you preparing for the banquet? Today would be a good day to rediscover our invitation to the banquet of God’s kingdom, and to assess what we are doing to prepare ourselves.

~ REFLEXION ~

¿Qué has hecho con tu invitación? ¿La has echado a un lado? ¿La has perdido? Did You Know? Beyond the myth of

the ‘bathing suit’ rule In the past, child abuse prevention programs focused on teaching children and young people that their “private body parts” are those parts of the body covered by a bathing suit. Teaching the concept of “total body safety” has become the latest practice. It is important for children to understand that their entire body is private. Parents should be watchful of adults who might be “grooming” a child by constantly tickling, kissing or hugging them. It is important to listen to a child and respect their wishes if they do not want to hug or kiss someone. For a copy of the VIRTUS© article “Beyond the myth of the bathing suit,” visit:

Sabia Usted?

WAYS TO PREPARE OURSELVES FOR GOD’S KINGDOM

Think about the things of Heaven, not the things of this earth: Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you: Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshipping the things of this world. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him: Christ is all that matters, and He lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with: tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love: which binds us together in perfect harmony. Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts, for as members of one body we are called to live in peace.

And always be thankful.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
