Conchita, Tell Us about Your Life Conchita speaks about Spiritual Maternity The Lord gave to me the divine enlightenment about the mystery of Mary’s solitude, her pain and helplessness in union with Jesus and the secret of her spiritual maternity. So that I, myself, … would mediate, contemplate and give thanks for my children. He indicated that from this time until my death, my path should be in union with Mary, imitating her and participating in the solitude of the Most Holy Virgin as a reflection of her spiritual maternity. My first retreat after this enlightenment was directed by Father Felix Rougier who oriented it entirely to living with Mary. The Lord had prepared him for this with his formation in the Society of Mary and his unblemished love for Mary. I understood very clearly the Lord’s will for me. This retreat united me with Mary, the Mother of holy hope. The virtue of hope is the virtue of solitude and pain, that looks toward heaven and makes the heart expand itself to possess heaven. I accepted the sorrows of loneliness and understood it was the action of God to purify me. It was to make me more like Mary and more like Jesus. I did not want it to stop. I did not want to be consoled, for Jesus had no consolation. I did not want to be treated better than Jesus, my Model, nor Mary, my Mother. This pain, this suffering, called me to imitate Mary in her offering of Jesus to the Father continually for the salvation of the world and the Works of the Cross. I was to buy all the graces for the present and future children of the Works of the Cross as Mary did for the fledgling Church and all the needs of her children. This was Mary’s maternal mission on earth. As a reflection of Mary and through her example, imitating her virtues and uniting myself to Jesus, I became the mother of the Works of the Cross for all its children and the salvation of the world.

A veces eran fieles a Dios.

P. Gerardo Alberto, MSpS

A WAITING HARVEST

Vocation Awareness

This is just what Priests do! Priests Evangelize: They Bring the Gospel to the World Part I A missionary priest gave a mission in my parish church when I was a boy. He told a story about a traveling missionary priest in South America who died around 1900. This priest had been sent from Europe to evangelize the native populations and he worked heroically to bring them Christ. Every day, he got on his mule and rode through the mountains from village to village clothed in his black cassock. He slept on the ground, was bitten by mosquitos, endured hunger and thirst, and still he struggled on. When he arrived at each village, he would teach and preach the Gospel all day long to anyone who would listen. This was a difficult task because each village had a different dialect. He was largely

unsuccessful. Some of the people would listen politely for a while, but very few ever embraced the Catholic faith and asked for Baptism. Months turned into years and years into decades. After thirty years, the priest became very ill one evening in a mountain village. Realizing that he would die, he told the young Indian man who traveled with him form village to village, “I have been a failure. I have tried to bring Jesus to the world but the world has not received him. May the Lord have mercy on me. May the Lord have mercy on us all.” The Priest died and was buried on the mountain. This is just what priests do. From the Book “To Save a Thousand Souls” Fr. Brett A. Brannen

O Jesus, Our Eternal Pastor, Deign to look with merciful eyes Upon this part of your loving flock. Lord, we need a large number of priests, and men and women consecrated to the religious life. Multiply vocations, And sanctify more and more our priests, And those consecrated in the religious life.

This week please pray for Deacon Tyler Johnson from Centralia. He is a Seminarian for the Archdiocese of Seattle and is taking Theology IV classes at the Pontifical North American College.

We ask you all this through the Immaculate Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, your sweet and holy Mother. Jesus give us priests according to your heart. Jesus, savior of all people, save them, save them! T y p o l o g y The Fourth Week of Advent: May the Peace of Christ Be With You! Kianna Garmanian

My dearest brothers and sisters in Christ, the time has come! We are now embarking on the fourth and final week of the Advent season and are preparing for the coming of our Savior. Rejoice! Our Lord is here and eager to enter the hearts of the faithful. WE are the Body of Christ… WE are the Church… We are the vessels which the Lord works through and uses to bring about His goodness. During this fourth week of Advent, I invite you to spend 15-30 minutes in prayer with the reflection questions I will share. The theme for the final week of advent is PEACE. As we prepare our hearts for Christ, here are some questions to reflect on: Have I prepared my heart, mind, and soul for the coming of Christ during this Advent season? Am I ready for the Lord’s coming? How have I prepared a home for Christ in my heart? How can I be an instrument of God’s goodness to others? How has my faith and relationship with Christ grown/developed throughout this Advent season? Christ is the one and true Prince of Peace. The world offers many distractions and false forms of peace that we need to be aware of: money, fame, glory, possessions, wealth, materialistic objects, accomplishments… and the list goes on. While these goods are not bad in and of themselves, it is important to know that they will never bring true happiness or peace into our lives. Jesus is the only source of eternal goodness Kianna has been a parishioner at and our souls will never be satisfied or content until they are untied with SEAS together with her family since Christ. Our hearts yearn for peace and stillness. Whatever situation you may find yourself in or whatever battle you are fighting, be still and know that our Lord is with you. Whenever you are troubled, or the burdens of life are weighing you down, remember these two words: BE STILL. Jesus, Emmanuel, is at your side. Therefore, my dear friends, rejoice in our loving Savior! I hope you all have had a lovely and blessed Advent season, and as we enter this final week, continue to prepare yourselves for the King of Kings, Jesus Christ! God Bless!

With the Heart of Jesus

In the Eucharist we find all the good of the Church. In it we have the certainty that God is faithful to His promise and stays with us until the end of time. In our visits and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, we experience the closeness of the good shepherd, the tenderness of His love, the presence of a faithful friend. We all experience this large support in our lives provided by faith and our personal and intimate dialogue with the Lord in the Eucharist. Come Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Special hours this week, see page 2.
