Dear Parishioners, Many of you have been asking about my brother David. My brother Dave had a stem cell transplant in August. He is currently at home, but is suffering from some complications from the transplant. He’s extremely fatigued, nauseated, and itchy. The doctors say it is the donor’s stem cells fighting my brother’s cells. Hopefully the donor’s stem cells win out. He has lost a lot of weight and my sister-in-law says if he loses any more she will be able to bench press him. My brother has a long way to go to recover from his leukemia. So keep up the prayers. We have a lot of exciting events coming up to support life. One is the Diocesan Pro-life Pasta Dinner on Friday, September 20th. The other is First Choice Pregnancy Center’s Gift of Life banquet on Friday, September 27 th. Abby Johnson, whose story was in the movie Unplanned, will be the guest speaker. I pray that you will join me to support life. See bulletin for details on these. Are you in High School? If so, please join other High School youth at our Youth Group which kicks off Monday, September 9th. What is Bunco? Bunco is a parlor game generally played with twelve or more players, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice. Join us Saturday, September 21st to learn how to play Bunco. As you can see, a lot is going on. Religious education classes will be starting soon and we still need assistants. Mi hermano David tuvo un trasplante de células madre en Agosto. Actualmente está en casa, pero sufre algunas complicaciones del trasplante. Está extremadamente fatigado, con náuseas y picazón. Los médicos dicen que las células madre del donante luchan contra las de mi hermano. Esperemos que las células madre del donante ganen. Ha perdido mucho peso y mi cuñada dice que si pierde más, ella podrá hacer ejercicio de banca. Mi hermano tiene un largo camino por recorrer para recuperarse de su Leucemia.
