Dear Parishioners, We are in the fall season and a lot is going on. We have Cub Scouts for boys and girls ages 510, Boy Scouts for boys and girls ages 11-18, High School Youth group, and a Young Adult group for 1835ish. The Young Adults are planning a retreat in October and will be having a food sale after all Masses next weekend. Please support the young adults. We started Religious Education classes this past week and are still in need of some assistants. The RCIA process continues this Wednesday, September 25th. So, if you or someone you know would like to become Catholic or needs to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, encourage them to attend. Sessions will be in English and Spanish. Many have been asking about my brother Dave. He is recovering from his bone marrow transplant but is having some complications. He developed a painful rash and his immune system is severely compromised. He is in quarantine at home for about 100 days or so, then he will gradually start going out into public. He has a long road to recovery, so prayers are needed. Finally, many people have asked about funerals and what the Catholic church allows and doesn’t allow. So next week, I will start a series on Catholic funerals. So, stay tuned … I encourage you to join me at the 40 Days for Life Kick-off this Sunday, and join me at the Westgate next Friday, September 27th for the First Choice Pregnancy Center fundraiser where Abby Johnson will be speaking. Tenemos Cub Scouts para niños y niñas de 5 a 10 años, Boy Scouts para niños y niñas de 11 a 18 años, un grupo de jóvenes de secundaria y un grupo de jóvenes adultos de 18 a 35 años. Los Jóvenes Adultos están planeando un retiro en Octubre y tendrán una venta de comida después de las Misas el próximo fin de semana. Por favor apoye a los jóvenes adultos. CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAS NEVADA STATE COURT is offering a one-time scholarship award of $500.00 to a Catholic girl entering either Bishop Gorman High School or Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School as a freshman in 2019. Essay themes:

“Blessed are the Peacemakers” or “Living in Harmony with Others”. Applications will be accepted September 1 through October 1, 2019. Award will be presented to the winner at the CDA Day celebration on October 20, 2019.
