Thank you for your Generosity!

Dear Parishioners, This weekend we hear in our second reading, St. Paul telling the community of Corinth that “a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many are one body.” We all have been given different gifts and talents. These gifts and talents are meant to be shared with others, rather than to be kept to ourselves. So what gifts do you have? Do you have the gift to be able to decorate or the gift to teach? Do have the gift to help those who are sick or the gift to help the youth? Do have the gift to read, or the gift to great people? Whatever gift you have, we can use you to help our parish grow. If you did not get a chance to sign up at the ministry fair, you can still do so by calling the office or emailing me at [email protected]. Next Friday, February 1st at 7:00 pm, we will be having a Candlemass in Spanish, and on Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30 am in English. At the mass, we celebrate the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, 40 days after Christmas, candles and images of the infant Jesus will be blessed. You are encouraged to bring your candles and images to Mass. In many places in the world, the Christmas season ends. Next Saturday, the youth of Holy Family will join other youth from around the Diocese of Las Vegas and Bishop Thomas to participate in the Diocesan Youth Rally. Please pray for the youth that they will grow in their relationship with God. Next weekend, we will have the St. Blaise Blessings of Throats at the end of every Mass. We also begin the sale of tickets for the Catholic Daughter’s Bunco party. The Knights of Columbus will be having their annual Superbowl Sunday Pancake breakfast. Come out and have some breakfast before the big game. The past week has been a week of Prayer for Christian Unity as well as a Prayer for the Sanctity of Human Life. We remember that all are created in the image and likeness of God and that all life is sacred from the moment of conception, until natural death. We pray that one day, the different churches will be reconciled and will one day stand together to worship together. As the partial government shutdown continues, we pray that our Senators and Representatives will put aside party differences and work together to solve this problem that affecting so many families. Let us remember to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Jesus in today’s Gospel says that he has come to bring “glad tidings to the poor.” Let us all work together to treat everyone with dignity and respect. When we do, the world becomes a better place to live. Let us resolve to put our faith into action.

Sincerely yours in Christ, Father Steve Hoffer Pastor of Holy Family

Te animamos a llevar tus velas e imágenes a Misa.

Adoration It’s a New Year. Let us continue to make our life a reflection of God and honor Him in Adoration. Holy Family Chapel is our hidden treasure. As Father Steve reminds us, we are to find time to develop a personal relationship with Jesus in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. May a weekly commitment to keep company with the One who had no place to lay His head be yours this 2019. Jesus did not leave us to walk our journey alone. He remains with us always in the Eucharist wanting to be with us, in us, and for us.

Mon. 12Noon to 3:30pm Tues. through Friday 8am to 3:30pm.
