Pastor’s Corner This weekend, at the beginning of all the Masses, our penitential rite will be a prayer for unity: asking God for forgiveness for our past sins of lack of unity and praying for unity as we prepare to begin our new parish on August 1st. It is a simple little prayer which hopefully can help us focus on the many graces of unity we are receiving in these days as we come together forming our new parish family. We need to pray for this continually. At this time, I feel the need to ask everyone to please be patient. Many things are happening and changes are being made, especially for our Sunday celebrations of Mass as we try to unify things for everyone. We are in process and are all learning as we go. We need to be patient - - things will settle as we work out things - some by trial and error! We can’t expect everything to be perfect and in place immediately as if all of these changes are not happening. It is a bit unsettling, but within a few weeks, people will know where things are and what they have to do and we will work through this together. I am grateful for the help and suggestions that so many of you have given. Thank you! I do need to remind you that, until the new offices are completed and moved into, the parish will be operating out of the offices at Corpus Christi. Also, we hope to have a “Keeping You Posted” section of the bulletin as things come up so that you know what is happening. I can’t emphasize enough the need to read the bulletin and listen to the announcements to know what is happening - - right now, it is the best way we have to communicate with most of you. Please read the bulletin. It is important! For now, let’s pray much for one another. Transition needs patience, time and much prayer. Doing this together will help make it smoother.

Este fin de semana, en el comienzo de todas las misas, nuestro rito penitencial será una oración por la Unidad: pidiendo perdón a Dios por nuestros pecados pasados de falta de unidad y orando por la unidad mientras que nos preparamos para comenzar nuestra nueva parroquia el 1º de agosto. Es una pequeña oración sencilla que con suerte puede ayudarnos a concentrarnos en las muchas gracias de unidad que estamos recibiendo en estos días, mientras que nos reunimos formando a nuestra nueva familia parroquial. Necesitamos orar por esto continuamente. En este momento, siento la necesidad de pedirles a todos que tengan paciencia. Muchas cosas están sucediendo y hay muchos cambios, especialmente para nuestras celebraciones dominicales de misa mientras que tratamos de unificar las cosas para todos. Estamos en procesos y todos estamos aprendiendo a medida que avanzamos. Tenemos que tener paciencia - - las cosas se arreglarán mientras que las trabajamos - - algunas ¡por ensayo y error! No podemos esperar que todo sea perfecto y en el lugar inmediatamente como si todos estos cambios no estuvieran sucediendo. Es un poco inquietante, pero dentro de unas semanas, la gente sabrá dónde están las cosas y lo que tienen que hacer y vamos a trabajar juntos a través de esto. Estoy muy agradecido por la ayuda y las sugerencias que muchos de ustedes han dado. ¡Gracias! Necesito recordarles que, hasta que las nuevas oficinas estén listas y hayamos mudado a ellas, la parroquia estará operando desde las oficinas de Corpus Christi. Además, esperamos tener una pequeña sección "Mantenerte informado" en el boletín a medida que vayan surgiendo las cosas para que sepan lo que está sucediendo. No puedo enfatizar suficientemente la necesidad de leer el boletín y escuchar los anuncios para saber lo que está sucediendo - en este momento, es la mejor manera que tenemos para comunicarnos con la mayoría de ustedes. Da mesa do pároco Começando nesse fim de semana, no início de cada missa, no ato penitencial será rezada a oração pela unidade: pedindo perdão a Deus pelos pecados passados de falta de unidade e pela unidade na nova paróquia que começará no dia 1º de agosto. A oração é simples mas focalizada nas bênçãos que receberemos com a nova família paroquial. Nós precisamos rezar continuamente nessa intenção. Por agora, sinto que devo pedir paciência a cada um de vocês. Muitas coisas estão acontecendo, muitas mudanças, especialmente nas missas dominicais. Nós estamos num processo dinâmico onde todos estamos aprendendo. Com paciência as coisas vão se acentar, após tentativas com acertos e erros. Não esperemos que tudo vá dar perfeitamente certo como gostaríamos, como se nada tivesse sendo mudado. Por enquando as coisas estão incertas, mas com o tempo serão esclarecidas e vamos resolver juntos todos os pepinos. Muito obrigado a todos que colaboram com sugestões. Lembremos que enquanto os escritórios não mudarem para a paróquia, eles continuam como antes, funcionando na Corpus Christi. Também, vamos manter as novidades no baletim, para que vocês possam acompanhar o que está acontecendo. É de suma importância que todos leiam o boletim e prestem atenção no anúncios dados na Igreja, sobre o que está acontecendo de novidade. Por favor leiam o boletim! Vamos rezar uns pelos outros. Transição exige paciência, tempo e oração, fazendo isso juntos, tornaremos as mudanças mais suaves. Que Deus te abençoe!
KEEPING YOU POSTED 1. A question people have asked: “Will Corpus Christi be locked?” The answer is “NO!” We will keep the church open from 9:00AM to 4:00PM each day the office is open. It will be locked after the last Mass on Sunday unless there is another service happening later in the day. Once the offices move, we may have to change this schedule again. 2. At Our Lady of Mercy, until the offices move to the new location there, we will continue to lock the church after the daily Masses. 3. A special word of thanks to John Verrastro who has been the faithful sacristan at Our Lady of Mercy for many years. We will always be grate-ful for your service, JOHN! God bless you a hundred fold! 4. We welcome Cindy Moore to our staff. Cindy is the new parish organist and will be playing at our English Masses on weekends. 5. A number of stain glass windows at Our Lady of Mercy are being removed to be repaired. They will be returned! 6. All of the weekend Masses except 7:30AM, we offer Communion under both forms. At Our Lady of Mercy, this will require you to come down the aisle in a single line and return by the same aisle. With time we will get used to it, but please be patient because it is a new system for all of us. 7. Finally, transition is a time in which rumors breed! Please don’t believe all the fake news that you may hear. If you have any questions, ask and we will do our best to answer. Please don’t fall into the rumor trap.
UNITY PRAYER God of history and God of all nations, We praise and thank you for your presence and work in our Port Chester Parishes in the past, the present and the future. Religious Education Registration for our 2017-2018 Religious Education Year is Open! All currently enrolled families in our Religious Education program MUST re-register. New students or families registering first graders must bring a copy of their child's Baptism certificate. Sessions are offered in the afternoon and evening on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. It will be an on a first come basis regarding day & time. Sessions begin the week of September 10th. Registration fees are $100 for one child, $175 for two children and $225 for three or more children. Sacramental fees-$100. Tuition, fees and copy of Baptism Certificate are due at registration. Please register before August 13th. After August 13ththere is a $25 late fee. We welcome scholarship donations for Families in Need. Pray about it! Help if you can! Educación Religiosa Inscrições abertas para a catequese 2017-2018! Todas as crianças que estão na catequese tem que se registrar de novo para continuar no próximo ano. Os que novatos devem trazer a certidão de batismo. A catequese vai ser ministrada nos períodos da tarde e noite de segunda, terça, quinta e também nas manhãs de sábados. A catequese vai começar no dia 10 de setembro. Taxa de inscrição: $100 por uma criança,, $175 por duas e $225 por três crianças. Taxa para Sacramental -$100.
