From the Desk of Fr. Pat
Desde el Escritorio de P. Pat
In these weeks of Lent, we have been focusing on the importance of praying with Scripture. The course on the Gospel of Mark is drawing to a close this week— it has been very successful and speaks to me of the hunger we have to pray with the Scripture. Each week, the bulletin will continue to present the monthly readings so that those who wish, might read the whole Bible throughout the year. Indeed, someone not in the parish wrote to me telling me how she is following this plan! Here are some steps to reflect on God’s Word and to help us to get to know Jesus more profoundly through our scripture reading . There are four steps: READ, MEDITATE, PRAY, CONTEMPLATE. Begin with a simple prayer asking the Holy Spirit to be with you and guide your mind and heart. STEP 1: READ: What does the Biblical text say? At the most basic level? What is going on in this Scriptural passage? You have to identify a WORD, PHRASE, IDEA that touches your heart…. that the Lord places in your heart…. FIRST READING: read the text slowly and Intentionally. REFLECTION: take several minutes to reflect on the reading and allow the Holy Spirit to surface a WORD, A PHRASE, AN IDEA that is central to the meaning of the text for you (What is the Biblical text saying to you?) INTERNALIZE: repeat the word or phrase either out loud or in your heart. STEP 2: MEDITATE: What is Jesus saying to me personally through this Scripture Text? What does God want me to know or see through this Scripture Text? How does this speak to my experience in life? SECOND READING: read the same passage again MEDITATION: take several minutes to reflect on the question: What is Jesus saying to me personally through this Scripture text? STEP 3: PRAY: My Lord has spoken to me in the Scriptural Text: What do I want to say back to Him in Prayer? THIRD READING: read the same passage again. REFLECTION: Jesus has spoken to me personally in this Scriptural Text. What do I want to say to Him in Prayer? PRAYER: say your prayer to our Lord either out loud or interiorly. STEP 4: CONTEMPLATE/ACT: As a result of my prayer, what is Jesus calling me to DO (this week)? Finally, our prayer calls us to action, ultimately to be more compassionate and faithful. CONTEMPLATE: what is our Lord is calling me to do as a result of this process. Happy Palm Sunday! God bless you!

Leia a primeira vez devagar.
Oto trzy fazy: Czytanie, przemyślenie i modlitwa. Zacznij czytanie od modlitwy do ducha świetego . Poproś go by był twoim przewodnikiem który rozjaśni twój umysł i otworzy serce. Chwila refleksji nad przeczytanym tekstem. Krok trzeci: Modlitwa. Bóg przemówił do mnie w piśmie świętym. Co ja pragnę mu powiedzieć w swojej modlitwie. Przeczytaj jeszcze raz ten sam tekst. Pomódl się do Boga. Rozważania: Co Jezus pragnie abym uczynił?Modlitwa sprawi , ze będziemy bardziej uduchowieni i otwarci na Boga. Z Bożym błogosławieństwem .

TO OUR CHILDREN AND PARENTS “Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” PHIL 2:6-8 Today is Palm Sunday and this week we will be entering The Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday). This is the holiest time of the entire Church year. It is a time to tell the story of the Paschal Mystery—the suffering, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The story is told through l song, Scripture, symbol, Sacrament, and procession. How will your family spend these holiest of days? As Holy Week begins, make room on the family calendar for quiet and prayer together, and make time to attend the liturgies of the Triduum. God Bless you! Questions of the Week: Parents: When have I found it hard to accept God’s will? What helped me to accept God’s will? Children: When is it hard to obey? Why? CRS Rice Bowl – Our Don Bosco Religious Education Lenten Giving Project During our Lenten forty-day retreat of prayer, fasting and giving, we are participating in the CRS Rice Bowl Project as a way of giving what we have to help those in need. As a family work together to help each other participate fully in this Lenten CRS Rice Bowl Project. CRS Rice Bowls can be returned to the Religious Ed Office or the Parish Office before Easter Sunday on April 1st.

Faith in Service: Our young People JESUS IS WAITING FOR US IN THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
JESÚS ESTÁ ESPERANDO NOSOTROS EN EL SACRAMENTO DE LA RECONCILIACIÓN In March 187 children from our Religious Education Program and Corpus Christi Holy Rosary School prepared for and received their Sacrament of First Reconciliation and Penance! Throughout their preparation for this sacrament our children learned that God expects them to try hard to be good, especially when it is not easy. As parents and parish community let us show and support our children in their efforts to be generous and charitable. Call them to make sound judgements and to model kindness at every opportunity. We must give them examples of kindness that they can follow in their young lives. And above all help them to be ready to forgive others and to meet Jesus in the Sacrament of Confession to experience Gods Mercy and Love. The Holy Spirit invites all of us to a conversion of heart and mind. God Bless you!
“Conversion is first of all a work of grace of God who makes our hearts return to Him” The Holy Spirit who brings sin to light also “gives the human heart grace for repentance and conversion” (CCC 2608, 1432 and 1433)
