This Monday is the feast of St. Joseph, the patron of the Universal Church. One of the gifts Pope Francis has given us is that he inserted the name of St. Joseph in everyone of the Eucharistic Prayers, so he is mentioned in every Mass! Today, in a time of crisis in fatherhood, Joseph remains as the patron of all Dads; and he reminds us of the special importance of the relationship between fathers and their sons— something our secular society is pushing to the side in its advocacy of sexual confusion. St. Joseph had the serious responsibility to support Jesus in developing a sound male identity, so that Jesus might learn to be a man, learn to work like a man, to love as a man with the heart of a man and he might teach Jesus to pray as a man prays. Joseph has so much to teach men today about how to be good husbands and fathers! In scripture, Joseph is the “just man”— meaning he is the man of faith and trust in God. Joseph obeyed God’s will: he took Mary to be his wife against all aspects of common sense; with Mary, he brought Jesus into the world in a stable at Bethlehem; at the message of an angel, he took his new born and his wife to Egypt and later traveled back; he cared for Jesus with a father’s love and, at the word of God, left this world, leaving behind Jesus and Mary, to become the patron of a “happy death”. Joseph teaches us what it means to be available to God!! I can tell you from personal experience and from the personal experiences of many others that Joseph is a most powerful intercessor. He helps people in their material needs. He is a powerful strength for those struggling with addictions and for their families. He is a model of silence and contemplation for growth in the spiritual life. Surrounded by Jesus and Mary at his death, he remains the patron of a happy death. He is the great advocate of the poor, providing bread for the hungry and those in need. The list of saints who fostered devotion to him include: St. Teresa of Avila; St. André of Canada; St. Teresa of Calcutta; Don Bosco; Pope St. John XXIII and Pope St. John Paul II, just to mention a few! Today, I want to invite all of us in the parish to “Go to Joseph!” and , with confidence, know he will intercede for us! God bless you! Prayer to St. Joseph Blessed Joseph, husband of Mary, be with us this day, You protected and cherished the virgin; loving the child Jesus as your Son, you rescued him from the danger of death. Defend the Church, the household of God, purchased by the blood of Christ. Guardian of the holy family, be with us in our trials. May your prayers obtain for us the strength to flee from error and wrestle with the Powers of corruption so that in life we may grow in holiness and in death rejoice in the crown of victory.
Este lunes es la fiesta de San José, el patrón de la Iglesia Universal. Uno de los obsequios que el Papa Francisco nos ha dado es que insertó el nombre de San José en cada una de las Oraciones Eucarísticas, así que se lo menciona en cada Misa! Hoy, en un momento de crisis de paternidad, José sigue siendo el patrón de todos los papás; y nos recuerda la especial importancia de la relación entre padres e hijos, algo que nuestra sociedad secular está haciendo a un lado en su defensa de la confusión sexual. San José tenía la gran responsabilidad de apoyar a Jesús en el desarrollo de una sólida identidad masculina, para que Jesús aprendiera a ser un hombre, aprendiera a trabajar como un hombre, amara como un hombre con el corazón de un hombre y podría enseñarle a Jesús rezar como un hombre ora. José tiene mucho que enseñar a los hombres de hoy sobre cómo ser buenos esposos y padres! En las Escrituras, José es el "hombre justo", lo que significa que él es el hombre de fe y la confianza en Dios. José obedeció la voluntad de Dios: llevó a María a ser su esposa contra todos los aspectos del sentido común; con María, trajo a Jesús al mundo en un establo en Belén; al mensaje de un ángel, llevó a su recién nacido y su esposa a Egipto y luego viajó de regreso; él se preocupaba por Jesús con el amor de un padre y, por la palabra de Dios, dejó este mundo, dejando atrás a Jesús y María, para convertirse en el patrón de una "muerte feliz". Oración a San José Bendito José, esposo de María, esté con nosotros este día, Tu protegiste y quisiste a la virgen; amando al niño Jesús como tu Hijo, lo rescataste del peligro de la muerte. Defiende la Iglesia, la casa de Dios, comprado por la sangre de Cristo. Guardián de la sagrada familia, esté con nosotros en nuestras pruebas. Que tus oraciones obtengan para nosotros la fuerza para huir del error y luchar con los poderes de la corrupción para que en la vida podamos crecer en santidad y en la muerte se regocijan en la corona de la victoria.

Nessa segunda-feira celebramos a festa de São Jose, o patrono universal da Igreja. O Papa Francisco inseriu São Jose nas orações eucarísticas, como isso ele e mencionado em todas as missas que celebramos. Hoje, vivemos em meio a crise de paternidade e São Jose e o padroeiro dos pais, e nos recorda da importância do bom relacionamento entre pais e filhos, especialmente em tempos marcados por tantas confusões. São Jose desempenhou a função de pai de Jesus, ensinando-o a ser homem que trabalha, que ama e que reza. São Jose tem muito a ensinar aos homens de hoje, para que sejam bons maridos e bons pais. Na sagrada Escritura são Jose e considerado o “homem justo” por ser um homem de profunda fé. Ele obedeceu a vontade de Deus, recebeu Maria como sua esposa quando a situação parecia contraditória e sem sentido. Esteve com Maria quando ela deu à luz a Jesus na manjedoura em Belém. Obedecendo ao Anjo ele fugiu com Maria e Jesus para o Egito e retornou quando avisado, sempre obedecendo a Deus. Ele se tornou também o padroeiro da “boa morte” pelo seu exemplo de disponibilidade a vontade de Deus. Não tenho dúvida que São Jose e o mais poderoso intercessor. Ele ajuda as pessoas em suas necessidades materiais e a se libertar de vícios. Ele e modelo de silencio e contemplação para o crescimento na vida espiritual. Rodeado por Jesus e Maria ele morre deixando o exemplo de como morrer em paz. Ele e o grande advogado dos pobres, providenciando pão aos necessitados. A lista de Santos, seus grandes devotos, incluem: Santa Teresa de Avida, Santo André do Canada, Santa Tereza de Calcutá, São Joao Bosco, São Joao XXIII, São Joao Paulo II e muitos outros. Hoje convido a todos você a procurar São Jose, e com confiança, pois ele intercede por todos nos. Que Deus te abençoe!
W ten poniedziałek obchodzimy dzien świetego Józefa, patrona uniwersalnego kościoła. Papież Franciszek wprowadził imię świetego Józefa do wszystkich modlitw eucharystycznych i jest ono wypowiadane w każdej mszy sw. W dzisiejszych czasach przeżywamy kryzys ojcostwa. Święty Józef jest patronem wszystkich ojców. Przypomina on nam o relacjach pomiędzy ojcami i synami i jak ważne maja znaczenie. Sw.Jozef miał poważna odpowiedzialność w wychowaniu Jezusa , ukształtowaniu go na mężczyznę , nauczeniu go pracy, milosci , wiary i modlitwy. Józef swoim przykładem pokazuje, jak być dobrym mężem i ojcem. W ewangelii, Józef jest zwykłym człowiekiem to znaczy kochającym i ufajacym Bogu. Wykonał on polecenie Boga i wziął Maryje za swoją zonę choć było wiele przeciwności. Razem w szopie betlejemskiej czekali na przyjście Jezusa. Na wiadomość od anioła zabrał on Maryje i dzieciątko Jezus do Egiptu , aby po czasie ponownie wrócić . Józef po śmierci został patronem "szczęśliwego skonania". Uczy nas on , jak być zawsze gotowym na usługi Boga. Na podstawie własnego doświadczenia oraz wielu innych ludzi, mogę stwierdzić , ze sw. Jozef Ma szczególna moc wysłuchiwania naszych próśb.Pomaga ludziom w potrzebach materialnych oraz tym , którzy zmagają się z rożnymi nałogami. Jest wspaniałym adwokatem dla biednych i potrzebujacych. Lista świętych , którzy czcili Józefa to :sw. Teresa z Avili, Matka Teresa z Kalkuty, Don Bosco, Papież Jan XXIII, Jan Paweł II. Zwróćcie się w swoich modlitwach do Świetego Józefa. We can pray anytime and any place. We are close to God when we pray. There are many forms of prayer. Christian prayers include prayers of adoration, praise, thanksgiving, sorrow, and petition. No matter what form our prayer takes, the Holy Spirit helps us. When we pray, the Holy Spirit is with us, uniting us with Jesus. CRS Rice Bowl – Our Don Bosco Religious Education Lenten Giving Project During our Lenten forty-day retreat of prayer, fasting and giving, we are participating in the CRS Rice Bowl Project as a way of giving what we have to help those in need. As a family work together to help each other participate fully in this Lenten CRS Rice Bowl Project. Our Lenten Soup Supper are being held every Wednesday, during Lent. Please join us at 6:00PM in the Holy Rosary Church hall.
