From the Desk of Fr. Pat Health & Blessings to you and your families in 2018! Happy New Year! Today, we celebrate three events: the feast of Mary, Mother of God; the World Day of Prayer for Peace; and the start of a new civil year! Lots to think about and much to be thankful for. Today, we celebrate Mary’s greatest title: Mother of God! A title that tells us dogmatically that Jesus is truly the Son of God and truly a human being with flesh and blood like us. A Divine Person, with human and divine natures. It also is a feast that reminds us that Jesus gave us His Mother to be our Mother also– His last gift to us from the cross. Just two weeks ago, our parish beautifully celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Today, and everyday in this new year, it is good to remember the words she spoke to Saint Juan Diego: “Why are you afraid? Don’t you know I am your Mother?” In a world filled with fears– we Catholics know we have a Mother watching over us, protecting us, helping us, interceding for us– and leading us back to her Son. We are not afraid! How can we be? The Mother of God is our Mother also!! Today, we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Peace! Each of us knows the condition of our world, and it seems we live on the edge of selfdestruction! Terrorism, war, hatred and the great destroyers of peace: injustice and abortion, have given us a world living daily on the brink of war. In this world, through the hands of our Blessed Mother, we have received the greatest weapon to fight in this war– not a gun– but the holy rosary! Today we recall our Blessed Mother’s words to the children of Fatima: if you want peace, pray the Rosary. Today is a time for New Year’s resolutions instead of some resolution we will stop practicing or thinking about in a week, how about each of us resolving to pray the rosary every day in 2018! It will change our world in a real way. It will change the life of our parish! Finally, today is the beginning of the civil year. We have no idea what this year will bring– good things? Bad things? Challenges? Sickness? New life? Death? If we want this year to truly be a happy year lived to the fullest with blessings and graces there is just one way: live one day at a time. The challenge for each of us: live every day of 2018 as if it were the first day of our lives; as if it were the last day of our lives; as if it were the only day of our lives!!! How different our lives would be! Regardless of the challenge thrown at us, we will truly experience a happy new year every day because we will be living life to the fullest in a spirit of joy and hope and faith! Happy 2018! Hoy, celebramos tres eventos: la fiesta de María, Madre de Dios; el Día Mundial de Oración por la Paz; y el comienzo de un nuevo año civil! Hay mucho en qué pensar y mucho que agradecer. Hoy celebramos el título más grande de María: ¡Madre de Dios! Un título que nos dice dogmáticamente que Jesús es verdaderamente el Hijo de Dios y verdaderamente un ser humano con carne y sangre como nosotros. Una Persona Divina, con naturalezas humana y divina. También es una fiesta que nos recuerda que Jesús nos dio a Su Madre para que también sea nuestra Madre, Su último regalo para nosotros desde la cruz. Hace solo dos semanas, nuestra parroquia celebró bellamente la fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Hoy, y todos los días en este nuevo año, es bueno recordar las palabras que le dirigió a San Juan Diego: "¿Por qué tienes miedo? ¿No sabes que soy tu madre? "En un mundo lleno de miedos, nosotros los católicos sabemos que tenemos una Madre que nos cuida, nos protege, nos ayuda, intercede por nosotros y nos conduce de regreso a su hijo. ¡No tenemos miedo! ¿Cómo podemos ser? La Madre de Dios es nuestra Madre también !! ¡Hoy, celebramos el Día Mundial de Oración por la Paz! ¡Cada uno de nosotros conoce la condición de nuestro mundo y parece que vivimos al borde de la autodestrucción! El terrorismo, la guerra, el odio y los grandes destructores de la paz: la injusticia y el aborto, nos han dado un mundo que vive a diario al borde de la guerra. En este mundo, a través de las manos de nuestra Santísima Madre, hemos recibido la mejor arma para luchar en esta guerra, no un arma, ¡sino el santo rosario! Hoy recordamos las palabras de nuestra Santísima Madre a los niños de Fátima: si quieres paz, reza el Rosario. Hoy es un momento para las resoluciones de Año Nuevo en lugar de una resolución que dejaremos de practicar o pensar en una semana, ¿qué tal si cada uno de nosotros decidiera rezar el rosario todos los días en 2018! cambiaria nuestro mundo de una manera real. ¡Cambiaria la vida de nuestra parroquia! Finalmente, hoy es el comienzo del año civil. No tenemos idea de lo que traerá este año, ¿cosas buenas? ¿Cosas malas? Retos? ¿Enfermedad? ¿Nueva vida? ¿Muerte? Si queremos que este año sea realmente un año feliz y lleno de bendiciones y gracias, hay solo una manera: vivir un día a la vez. El desafío para cada uno de nosotros: vivir todos los días de 2018 como si fuera el primer día de nuestras vidas; como si fuera el último día de nuestras vidas; como si fuera el único día de nuestras vidas !!! ¡Cuán diferentes serían nuestras vidas! Independientemente del desafío que se nos presente: ¡experimentaremos verdaderamente un feliz año nuevo todos los días porque viviremos la vida al máximo en un espíritu de alegría, esperanza y fe! ¡Feliz 2018! ¡Dios te bendiga!

Saúde e bênçãos para você e sua família em 2018. Feliz Ano Novo! Hoje celebramos três eventos: a festa de Maria a Mae de Deus, o Dia Mundial de Oração pela Paz, e o início do novo Ano Civil. Pensando bem, temos muito a agradecer. Maria Mae de Deus, mostra que Jesus e Deus e Humano como nos. O Divino se torna humano. No pé da cruz Jesus entregou a sua mãe para ser nossa mãe também. Há duas semanas, celebramos Maria, com o título de Guadalupe. Vale a pena guardar as palavras que ela disse a San Juan Diego: “Porque você esta com medo? Você não sabe que eu sou a sua mãe? Nos sabemos que Maria cuida de nós, nos protegendo, nos ajudando e intercedendo por nos junto a seu filho. Nós não temos motivo para ter medo de nada. Celebramos também o Dia Mundial de Oração pela Paz. Sabemos como esta o mundo, parece estar à beira da destruição: terrorismo, guerra, ódio e os grandes inimigos da paz: injustiça, aborto, males que ameaçam uma guerra mundial. Nesse mundo difícil, pela intercessão de Maria recebemos muita forca para enfrentar os males, principalmente através do rosário tão recomendado por Maria. Lembramos as palavras dela aos pastorzinhos em Fatima, se você quer paz, reze o terço! Que tal começar a rezar o terço diário em 2018! Essa e a melhor maneira de mudar o mundo e a vida de nossa paroquia. Para finalizar, hoje começa o novo Ano Civil. Nós não sabemos o que vai acontecer: coisas boas, mas, desafios, doenças, morte? Para que esse ano seja bem bom, vamos viver bem a cada dia. E um desafio para cada um de nós, viver cada dia de 2018, como se ele fosse o primeiro, o único, ou o ultimo dia em nossa vida. Vivendo assim, certamente a nossa vida seria muito diferente. Apesar de todos os desafios pela frente, vamos agradecer a Deus, pois cada dia que amanhece e mais uma benção divina para cada um de nos. Feliz 2018! Que Deus te abençoe!

Zdrowia i błogosławieństwa Bożego oraz szczęśliwego Nowego Roku 2018 dla Was i waszych rodzin! Dziś obchodzimy trzy okazje: święto Maryi - Matki Boskiej ,Światowy Dzien Modlitwy i Pokoju i początek nowego roku.Wiele do przemyślenia i wiele do zawdzięczenia. Matka Boża ! Tytuł jaki otrzymała Maryja mówi nam , ze Jezus jest synem Boga i człowiekiem z krwi i ciała , tak jak my. Boska Osoba , która jest człowiekiem. Jest to rownież święto , ktore przypomina nam, ze Jezus oddał swoją Matkę aby została nasza Matka . Dwa tygodnie temu , nasza parafia obchodziła święto Matki Boskiej z Guadalupy. Powiedziała wtedy znaczące slowa : dlaczego się obawiacie? Czyż zapomnieliście , ze macie Matkę ? W świecie opanowanym przez rożne obawy i niepewność , my katolicy wiemy , ze Matka Boska ma nas w swojej opiece. Pomaga nam, wstawia się za nami i prowadzi nas do Jezusa. Nie musimy się niczego obawiać , bo ona jest z nami. Dzisiaj obchodzimy Światowy Dzien Modlitwy i Pokoju. Wszyscy wiedza co dzieje się w dzisiejszym świecie i wydaje się , ze żyjemy na krawędzi samozniszczenia. Terroryzm, wojny , wzajemna nienawiść doprowadzają do niszczenia pokoju na świecie. Niesprawiedliwość , zabijanie nienarodzonych prowadzi do destrukcji człowieka . W tych trudnych czasach otrzymaliśmy z rak Matki Boskiej różaniec święty. Jest to najlepsza broń w walce przeciw złu . Do dzieci w Fatimie Maryja powiedziała: Jeżeli pragniecie pokoju , odmawiajcie różaniec. Nowy Rok sprawia , ze podejmujemy rożne rezolucje o których pózniej zapominamy i nigdy ich nie realizujemy . Niech dla każdego z nas postanowieniem będzie odmawianie codziennie różańca w roku 2018. Modlitwa różańcowa odmieni sytuacje w świecie i w parafii. Zaczynamy nowy rok. Jaki będzie i co nam przyniesie? Choroby , nowe życie , smierć , dobre czy złe rzeczy ? Jeśli pragniemy aby ten 2018 rok był dla nas szczęśliwy to musimy żyć przykładnie i z godnością . Traktujmy każdy dzień w nowym roku jako pierwszy dzień naszego życia. Żyjmy każdym dniem z nadzieja , wiara , radością i miłością . Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku 2018!!! Z Bożym błogosławieństwem

On December 8th, students from the Corpus Christi Holy Rosary School's Builders Club led by Sister Kelly Schuster prepared 185 Christmas cards which included homemade ornaments for the residents of The Enclave at Port Chester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Port Chester, New York. The Builders Club’s mission is to instill a love of service and volunteerism in our young people as well as to develop their leadership skills in the style of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello. On Dec 19th, the beautiful gifts were delivered to the nursing home along with glad tidings of joy for our Savior Jesus is born! Happy New Year! From the Religious Education Staff We will begin classes again starting Thursday January 4, 2018
