From the Desk of Fr. Pat A Blessed Easter to all! May the Risen Christ fill your hearts and your homes with His peace and presence! Please be assured that the entire Salesian Community is praying for you and your families in this grace-filled time of year! Easter is a time of hope. In a world where so many people lack hope, we Christians rejoice: sin has no power over us; the evil one has no power over us; death has no power over us! Jesus is risen from the dead and through Baptism we have risen with Him! Although life may at times be very difficult and hard, we know the battle is already won, and so we never lose hope. Easter is a time of hope because we know that for we who believe, life never ends, it merely changes. We believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting, and so we don’t put our trust in the passing things of this world but, instead, we put our hope in Jesus the Risen Lord— and we look forward to the life to come. Indeed, we say with the famous Italian poet Fogazzaro. “Everything except eternity is vain to the world.” Jesus is Alive and so life has meaning beyond this life! Easter is also a time of proclamation. The 20th chapter of St. John’s Gospel concludes with Thomas proclaiming that Jesus is our Lord and our God! You and I are His disciples and we are called to proclaim this good news. In a world that says there is no meaning to life, we proclaim that Jesus’ Resurrection gives meaning to life. In a world that pessimistically tells us we suffer and then we die, we proclaim that suffering gives rise to new life and so the cross gives place to eternal joy. In a world that says happiness lies only in satisfying our most immediate needs and desires, we proclaim that true happiness can only be found in Jesus and in the everlasting life promised to those who believe in Him. This is our Christian mission: to proclaim to all the world in word and in act that there is reason to live in joy, in hope, in peace, in love: Jesus is Risen from the dead; He is Alive! May you know the peace and joy that comes from believing in and proclaiming the Easter story: He who was thought to be dead is alive and has gone to prepare a place for us in the Father’s house! We share in the Resurrection! Happy Easter! God bless you!

Desde el Escritorio de P. Pat ¡Una bendita Pascua a todos!

¡Que el Cristo Resucitado llene su corazón y su hogar con Su paz y presencia! Por favor, tengan por seguro que toda la Comunidad Salesiana orará por ustedes y por sus familias en este tiempo del año lleno de gracia! La Pascua es un tiempo de esperanza. En un mundo donde tanta gente carece de esperanza, nosotros los cristianos nos regocijamos: el pecado no tiene poder sobre nosotros; el mal no tiene poder sobre nosotros; ¡la muerte no tiene poder sobre nosotros! Jesús ha resucitado de entre los muertos y por medio del bautismo, ¡hemos resucitado con Él! Aunque la vida a veces puede ser muy dura y difícil, sabemos que la batalla ya está ganada, y por eso nunca perdemos la esperanza. La Pascua es un tiempo de esperanza porque sabemos que para los que creemos, la vida nunca termina simplemente se transforma. Creemos en la resurrección del cuerpo y en la vida eterna, y entonces no confiamos en las cosas pasajeras de este mundo, sino que ponemos nuestra esperanza en Jesús el Señor Resucitado y esperamos la vida que viene. De hecho, decimos con el famoso poeta italiano Fogazzaro. "Todo excepto la eternidad es vano para el mundo." ¡Jesús está vivo y así la vida tiene significado más allá de esta vida! La Pascua es también un tiempo de proclamación. El 20º capítulo del Evangelio de San Juan concluye con Tomás proclamando que Jesús es nuestro Señor y nuestro Dios! Ustedes y yo somos sus discípulos y estamos llamados a proclamar las buenas nuevas. En un mundo que dice que no hay significado para la vida, proclamamos que la resurrección de Jesús da sentido a la vida. En un mundo que nos dice con pesimismo que sufrimos y luego morimos, proclamamos que el sufrimiento da lugar a una nueva vida y que la Cruz cede al gozo eterno. En un mundo que dice que la felicidad yace sólo en satisfacer nuestras necesidades y deseos más inmediatos, proclamamos que la verdadera felicidad sólo se puede encontrar en Jesús y en la vida eterna prometida a los que creen en él. Esta es nuestra misión cristiana: proclamar a todo el mundo en la palabra y en el acto que hay razón para vivir en la alegría, en la esperanza, en la paz, en el amor: Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos; ¡ Está vivo! Que conozcan la paz y el gozo que viene de creer y proclamar la historia de Pascua: ¡ El que se pensó que estaba muerto está vivo y ha ido a preparar un lugar para nosotros en la casa del padre! ¡Compartimos la resurrección! ¡ Feliz Pascua! ¡Que Dios te bendiga!

Feliz Pascoa a todos vocês! Que o Senhor ressuscitado preencha os seus corações e lares com a sua presença! Estejam certos das orações de toda a Comunidade Salesiana por vocês e seus familiares nessa ocasião tão especial do ano. A Pascoa e um tempo de esperança. Resumindo, quando muitas pessoas lamentam a falta de esperança, nos cristãos nos alegramos: o pecado não tem forca sobre nós; o mal não nos vence; a morte já foi vencida! Jesus ressuscitou dos mortos e pelo batismo nos também ressuscitamos com ele. Apesar de as vezes enfrentarmos grandes dificuldades na vida, nos sabemos que a batalha já esta vencida, por isso nos nunca perdemos a esperança. A Pascoa e tempo de esperança porque sabemos em quem acreditamos, a vida nunca termina, ela apenas muda. Nós acreditamos na ressurreição do corpo e na vida eterna, e por isso não colocamos a nossa esperança nas coisas passageiras desse mundo, mas em Jesus ressuscitado e esperamos um dia viver eternamente com Ele. De fato, podemos dizer como o famoso poeta italiano Fogazaro: “Tirando a eternidade, o resto e vaidade nesse mundo.” Jesus está vivo, pois isso a vida tem sentido depois da morte! A Pascoa e também um tempo de proclamação. O capítulo 20 do evangelho de São Joao diz que Jesus e nosso Senhor e nosso Deus! Voce e eu somos discípulos, e somos chamados a proclamar a boa nova. Num mundo que nega o sentido da vida, nos proclamamos que a Ressurreição de Jesus dá sentido à vida. Num mundo pessimista que diz que nos sofremos e por isso morremos, nos proclamamos que o sofrimento nos dá vida nova, e a cruz conquista a felicidade eterna. Num mundo que diz que a felicidade está na satisfação dos nossos desejos e necessidades imediatas, nos proclamamos que a verdadeira felicidade só e encontrada em Jesus e na vida eterna prometida para aqueles que acreditam e seguem a Jesus. Essa e a nossa missão como cristãos: proclamar por todo o mundo com palavras e acoes que vale a penas viver na alegria, esperança, paz e amor: Jesus Ressuscitou de entre os mortos. Ele está vivo! Que possamos entender a paz e a alegria que brota da profissão de fe e proclamação da história da Pascoa: Aquele que foi morto está vivo, e ele voltou a casa do Pai para preparar um lugar para nós também. Um dia nos também ressuscitaremos com Ele, por isso nos alegramos com sua Ressurreição! Feliz Pascoa! Que Deus te abençoe!

Błogosławiona Wielkanoc dla wszystkich! Niech zmartwychwstały Chrystus napełniał wasze serca i wasze domy swoim pokojem i obecnością! Należy pewność, że cała wspólnota Salezjańska jest Wielkanoc to czas nadziei. W świecie, w którym tak wielu ludzi nie ma nadziei, my, chrześcijanie, cieszymy się: grzech nie ma nad nami władzy; zła nie ma nad nami władzy; śmierć nie ma nad nami władzy! Jezus powstał z martwych i przez chrzest zmartwychwstał z nim! Chociaż życie może czasami być bardzo trudne i trudne, we znać Bitwa jest już wygrana, a więc nigdy nie stracić nadziei. Wielkanoc to czas nadziei, ponieważ Wiemy że dla nas, którzy wierzą, życie nigdy się nie kończy, to tylko zmiany. W świecie, który pesymistycznie mówi nam, cierpimy, a potem umieramy, głosimy, że cierpienie rodzi nowe życie, a więc krzyż daje miejsce wiecznej radości. W świecie, który mówi, że szczęście leży tylko w zaspokajaniu naszych najpilniejszych potrzeb i pragnień, głosimy, że prawdziwe szczęście można znaleźć tylko w Jezusie i w życiu wiecznym obiecanym tym, którzy wierzą w niego. To jest nasza misja chrześcijańska: głosić światu w słowie i w akcie, że istnieje powód, by żyć w radości, w nadziei, w pokoju, w miłości: Jezus zmartwychwstał; On żyje! Niech znasz pokój i radość, które pochodzą z wiary i głoszenia Wielkanocnej opowieści: ten, który uważał się za martwy, żyje i poszła, aby przygotować dla nas miejsce w domu ojca! Dzielimy się w zmartwychwstaniu!

During our Easter Vigil Mass on April 20, 2019: Father Pat celebrated Holy Eucharist for 11 of our Saint John Bosco Religious Education young people who received Jesus for the first time in the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. We ask the Parish of Saint John Bosco to pray and accompany our young people as they continue to receive Jesus in their hearts though the most Holy Eucharist! Congratulations and God Bless You!
