PASTOR’S Reflection

B

reaking Open the Word of God:

Dear brothers and sisters, today we celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, may the grace of God shine abundantly on each one of you. First, to understand the First Reading from the Book of Proverbs, it is necessary to understand the origin of Trinity Sunday in the Liturgical Calendar. "Trinity Sunday, the first Sunday after Pentecost, was instituted to honor the Most Holy Trinity. This celebration takes place once a year, and the readings from Holy Scripture emphasize the Three Divine Persons of the Holy Trinity ".

In the Gospel, Saint John reaffirms the triple action of the Most Holy Trinity in our lives. Both the Father and the Son have sent the Holy Spirit into the world as the Spirit of truth to guide us to the truth. Just like Jesus did not speak of his own, but spoke of what he heard from the Father, the Holy Spirit will not speak alone, but speaks of what he hears. As we can grasp the truth, depending on our age and our openness to knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures, the grace of God shines upon us according to our need and our desire to grow in love for Christ.

In today's second reading from Paul's letter to the Romans, we hear that God justifies man through faith in Jesus Christ, which leads to the salvation of the righteous man. When viewed in context with all the Scriptures, we come to perceive that justification requires not only faith in Jesus Christ, but also the alking together as brothers and sisters: Sacrament of Baptism. By emphasizing that we are justified through Jesus Christ, St. Paul tells us that in the My brothers and sisters, I invite you plan of salvation, the Heavenly Father has designated throughout this week to reflect on the Most Holy Christ as our Mediator. Trinity. Take any experience of your life, whether St. Paul also tells us that the reconciled Christian who related to your faith, your marriage, your job or even the shall be saved, shall also share with hope the resurrected birth of a child, and ask yourself the following question. life of Christ. The first effect of justification is the "How was the love of God manifested in this Christian experience of peace. This is a peace that experience through the Holy Trinity?" "What was anxieties can not alter, a hope that knows no the role of Heavenly Father?" "What was the role of disappointment and a confidence in salvation that the Jesus?" "What was the role of the Holy Spirit?" And when you come to perceive the individual roles of each Christian can really boast about. Person of the Most Holy Trinity, take a moment to thank As Christians, we boast in the hope of the glory of God. We put our boasting on something that is God for his invaluable participation in this event of your completely beyond our ordinary natural powers, in hope. life. May the grace and peace of God be with each of This hope is a free gift to us from God, just like faith you throughout this week. itself. And in the long term, our boast depends on God. Fr. Jose Gerardo Alberto, MSpS What we expect is the glory of God communicated, yet to be acquired, even though we have already been introduced to the grace of God.

W

Saint Paul tells us that through suffering, resilience, the formation of character and hope, the love of God is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. This love of God is not "our love for God" but, rather, "God's love for us". All the gifts we receive from God, whether his grace, faith, hope, peace, justification, are bestowed through the Most Holy Trinity. It is by the grace of God through the power of the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus that God manifests his love in us, with us and through us so that His light shines in the world.

REFLEXION del

M

A WAITING HARVEST

Vocation Awareness

Diocesan Priest A diocesan priest is a man who has been ordained for a particular diocese. In most circumstances, he is assigned to work in a parish within the diocese, taking care of God’s people. This is the great work to which a diocesan priest expends his life. Exceptions to this will be covered in a later chapter entitled “Special assignments for Diocesan Priests,” but most diocesan priests live and work in parishes. As mentioned, Holy Marriage and Holy Orders are the only two particular vocations that are also sacraments, giving them special importance. The Catechism of the Catholic Church mentions that these are the only two sacraments specifically designed to help others attain heaven (CCC #1534). The other five sacraments are specifically for the good of the person receiving them. Priesthood is about serving others and getting them to heaven! Jesus imparts this sacred power to a priest for the sake of others. This is important to know for your discernment. From the Book “To Save a Thousand Souls” Fr. Brett A. Brannen “God has created me to do some special service; God has committed some work for me which has not been committed to another. I HAVE A MISSION.” John Henry Newman

With the Heart of Jesus

In the Eucharist we find all the good of the Church. In it we have the certainty that God is faithful to His promise and stays with us until the end of time. In our visits and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, we experience the closeness of the good shepherd, the tenderness of His love, the presence of a faithful friend. We all experience this large support in our lives provided by faith and our personal and intimate dialogue with the Lord in the Eucharist. Come Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm.
