PASTOR’S Reflection
B
reaking Open the Word of God:
Dear brothers and sisters, in these last few weeks of Easter, we have been proclaiming that the Lord Jesus has risen. On the second Sunday of Easter, the liturgical readings opened our eyes to the early history of the Christian Church. The following Sunday, we remembered our loyalty to the Lord Jesus. Last week, we reflected on Jesus as the Good Shepherd, listening to his voice and following him. Today, we are called to reflect on our loving service in the name of our Lord Jesus. In the Gospel reading this Sunday we hear the words of Jesus when he gave us a new commandment: "As I have loved you, you must also love yourself." To this, Jesus added: "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." By shining with love for one another, others will know that we are disciples of Jesus. These words of Jesus remind us of the words found in the First Letter of Saint John. "Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; All those who love are born of God and know God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. " "God is love, and those who remain in love remain in God, and God abides in them." "Those who say, I love God, but hate their brothers or sisters, they are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The command that we have of Jesus is this, those who love God must also love their brothers and sisters." My brothers and sisters, the love we have for our brothers and sisters is only a reflection of the love we have for God. If we love God, we seek to please Him in all things. To please God, we must obey Jesus' command to love one another. Through our obedience to this commandment, our love is perfected in the Lord Jesus so that the heavenly Father loves us as He loves His only begotten Son. Perfect love unites the children of God, without exception. If the biological brothers and sisters are divided among themselves, where is the love of God? If parents deny their children or children continually disobey their parents, where is the love of God? If a family is divided and nobody is doing anything to reunite it in the love of God, where is the love of God? It is not in the family and it is not in those who know the family and remain silent before the division that shelters anger, hatred, violence, verbal abuse and all the works of Satan. Where is the love of God when the unborn are aborted? When the lives of the elderly and the sick are discarded? When the elderly are abandoned by their relatives? In the Acts of the Apostles, we hear about the service done in love by Christians for each other
in the Lord Jesus, a service worthy of praise. Paul and Barnabas continued their mission from city to city, "strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith." To shine by serving in love in the name of the Lord Jesus is to imitate the saints of the Church, like Saint Paul. In his love for Jesus, he appointed elders to guide the believers in every church. Being witnesses of the power of the Holy Spirit by the grace of God the Father, they shared their spiritual joy with their brothers and sisters in Christ. In doing so, they were strengthening the faith and hope of the believers. It is the same today when each of us shares our personal experience of God's great love for each one of us.
W
alking together as brothers and sisters:
Dear brothers and sisters, through baptism we are united in the Mystical Body of Christ, which includes the Kingdom of God on earth, where we are called to love and adore God. Through our personal spiritual experience with God, we obtain the necessary graces so that the love of God that is in us can reflect to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, through the creation of new things by God, we are justified and sanctified so that our service of love in the Lord Jesus will reflect to our brothers and sisters. Let us ask ourselves this week: What sign do you think is the one that distinguishes us as Christians? What should we do in our parish community to give a better testimony? And in our family? Let's delve into these questions and live according to what God asks of us. Fr. José Gerardo Alberto, MSpS

Blessed The Beatification of Concepcion Cabrera, Conchita, took place last May 4th at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. On Friday there was a Conference describing her life as Laywoman, Mystic and Apostle, and on Sunday a Concert about her life. Bishops, priests and lay people from all over gathered to celebrate this joyous occasion.
Image to the right is a Cross created to house the relics of Concepcion Cabrera consisting of a bandage with her blood. The words on the arms read “Cruz de Jesús” Cross of Jesus.

A WAITING HARVEST
Vocation Awareness
The Vocational Pre-Determination by God When I was a vocational director, I would visit the Catholics Schools in my diocese to teach the children about vocations. I explained to them that before God had even created the world, he knew them, and he loved them. He already knew your name, he knew every thought you would ever think, he knew how many hairs were on your head, he knew your sins, he knew your great deeds, and he even saw the moment of your death and your entrance into heaven. And God has already decided your vocation before he had even made the world! Or at least, he had already planned to which vocation you would be called. When it finally becomes time for you to be born, God created your soul to go inside your tiny body, and it was created specifically for that pre-determined vocation. I call this concept the vocational pre-determination by God or vocational pre-destination. If God is calling you to marriage, then he prepared your soul and gave you the gifts of body and soul to live out the vocation of marriage. If God is calling you to the priesthood, then your soul and body were made with that vocation in mind. This will be an important hint for you as you discern. Look at the gifts God has given to you and where those gifts are best used to build up the Kingdom. From the Book “To Save a Thousand Souls” Fr. Brett A. Brannen
O Jesus, Our Eternal Pastor, Deign to look with merciful eyes Upon this part of your loving flock. Lord, we need a large number of priests, and men and women consecrated to the religious life. Multiply vocations, And sanctify more and more our priests, And those consecrated in the religious life. We ask you all this through the Immaculate Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, your sweet and holy Mother. Jesus give us priests according to your heart. Jesus, savior of all people, save them, save them! With the Heart of Jesus
In the Eucharist we find all the good of the Church. In it we have the certainty that God is faithful to His promise and stays with us until the end of time. In our visits and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, we experience the closeness of the good shepherd, the tenderness of His love, the presence of a faithful friend. We all experience this large support in our lives provided by faith and our personal and intimate dialogue with the Lord in the Eucharist. Come Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm.
