STUDENT ACADEMICS………….. We are now in Trimester 3! This year is really flying by, and before you know it, we will be enjoying summer break. J Did you review your child’s report card? Report cards were sent home on February 28th, and conferences will be held tomorrow, March 2nd, by appt. only. We are very pleased with the progress that most of our students have shown this year. Our students have not only learned a variety of new skills, they are also being taught how to take those skills, and apply them to new situations. This deepens their understanding and makes them more successful in school. Kudos to the parents that have been very involved in their child’s learning this year by practicing skills at home, helping with homework, and reminding them how important school and learning are. Unfortunately, we do have some students that have not learned as much as we would like, and these students are being considered for retention. This is not a punishment, but rather an opportunity to give students more time to learn the skills they need to be successful when they do move up to the next grade. We can’t simply send them on if we know they aren’t ready for an even harder curriculum next grade. If your child is being considered for retention, you should have been informed of this during your conference with the teacher. Letters will also be mailed on March 23rd to parents of students that are being considered for retention. STUDENT BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS…………

A BIG thank you to all of the parents who donated cereal and tablecloths for last month’s PBIS activities! We truly appreciate you helping us make our events successful. J Students had a great time, and it fun to see them having fun. Students helped each other create Valentine’s cards and cookies, and cheered each other on during our Western Day activities. Students are showing kindness as we continue to stress this with our school-wide kindness challenge! Congratulations to all of the classes that have filled their KINDNESS buckets and have earned spot on the kindness wall. Please remind your child at home how important it is to show kindness toward others. Have you started your own kindness bucket at home? The whole family can participate; simply put 1 item in a bucket whenever someone in the family is extra kind to someone else. When your bucket is full, celebrate as a family and start over again! Take a few pics and post them on social media or send the pics to school to show how kindness looks in your home! Promoting good, safe behavior, and being kind to each other, are main focuses in our school. As always, our school rules can be found on our webpage at www.sd194.org in the PBIS link.

OTHER INFO…………….. • Please be sure to check your child’s folders/book bag DAILY! Trimester 3 is a very busy time of year with several activities; there will be information sent home on a regular basis that parents MUST read to stay informed. • Snacks/lunches: We are seeing an increase in snacks/lunches being sent to school that contain high levels of sugar and/or carbs. While we all eat things that are not healthy at times, please avoid sending food that is high in sugar or carbs to school; fresh fruit is always a good option. académicos estudiantiles………….. Ahora estamos en el Trimestre 3! Este año es realmente volando, y antes de que usted lo sepa, vamos a estar disfrutando de las vacaciones de verano. ¿Jrevise la tarjeta de informe del niño? Tarjetas de informe fueron enviados a casa el 28 de febrero, y las conferencias se celebrará mañana, 2 de marzo, por cita solamente. Estamos muy satisfechos con el progreso que la mayoría de nuestros alumnos han mostrado este año. Nuestros estudiantes no sólo han aprendido una variedad de nuevas habilidades, también se les enseña a tomar esos conocimientos y aplicarlos a situaciones nuevas. Esto profundiza su comprensión y les hace más exitosos en la escuela. Enhorabuena a los padres que han participado muy activamente en el aprendizaje de sus hijos este año por practicar las habilidades en casa, ayudando con las tareas, y recordándoles cómo la escuela y el aprendizaje son importantes. Por desgracia, tenemos algunos estudiantes que no han aprendido tanto como desearíamos, y estos estudiantes están siendo consideradas para la retención. Esto no es un castigo, sino una oportunidad para dar a los estudiantes más tiempo para aprender las habilidades que necesitan para tener éxito cuando lo hacen subir al siguiente nivel. No podemos simplemente enviarlas si sabemos que no están listos para un currículum aún más próximo grado. Si su niño está siendo considerado para la retención, que debería haber sido informada de ello durante su conferencia con el maestro. Las letras también será enviada el 23 de marzo a los padres de estudiantes que están siendo consideradas para la retención. El comportamiento del estudiante expectativas………… gracias a todos los padres que donaron el cereal y manteles para el último mes de PBIS actividades! Agradecemos sinceramente que nos ayudan a realizar nuestros eventos exitosos. Los estudiantes Jpasamos un tiempo estupendo, y es divertido ver a ellos para divertirse. Los estudiantes ayudaron mutuamente crear tarjetas de San Valentín y cookies, y vitorearon mutuamente sobre las actividades del día en nuestra cultura occidental. Los estudiantes están mostrando bondad como seguimos recalcando esto con nuestra escuela-gran amabilidad desafío! Felicitaciones a todas las clases que han llenado su amabilidad baldes y han ganado terreno en la amabilidad de pared. Por favor recuerde a su niño en casa lo importante que es mostrar bondad hacia los demás. ¿Has comenzado su propia bondad cuchara en casa? Toda la familia puede participar; simplemente poner 1 item en un cubo cada vez que alguien en la familia es muy amable con alguien. Cuando la cubeta está llena, Celebrar como una familia y empezar de nuevo! Tome algunas fotografías y publicarlas en medios sociales o enviar las fotos a la escuela para mostrar cómo la bondad busca en tu casa! Promover la buena conducta segura y ser amables unos con otros, son focos principales en nuestra escuela. Otra información…………….. • Asegúrese de comprobar las carpetas de su hijo/mochila a diario! Trimestre 3 es una época del año muy ocupado con varias actividades; habrá información enviada a casa sobre una base regular que los padres deben leer para mantenerse informado. • Aperitivos y almuerzos: estamos viendo un aumento en aperitivos y almuerzos enviados a la escuela que contienen altos niveles de azúcar y/o carbohidratos. Mientras todos comemos cosas que no son saludables, a veces, por favor, evite enviar alimentos que sean altos en azúcar o carbohidratos a la escuela; la fruta fresca siempre es una buena opción.
