The 2013‐2014 Huffman Elementary PTA has several unfilled positions that we are asking your help in filling. At this time, we do not have anyone signed up to head the yearbook for the 2013‐2014 school year. We also do not have a anyone who has stepped up to help with the Afterschool Enrichment Programs, such as: Young Rembrandts, ATTACK! Basketball, TGA Golf, and more. If you would like to help with either of the above or something else, please contact
[email protected] no later then June 1, 2013. Please note that if we are unable to fill these positions, we will not be able to have the yearbook and the Afterschool Enrichment Programs for next year.

Box Tops and Labels for Education Please be sure to keep saving your Box Tops and Labels for Education, we will be having another grade level competition from May 6 ‐ May 24, 2013. The grade with the most collected will win a popcorn party! Be a Box Top for Education Hero! Collect “Box Tops 4 Education” from products you buy at the grocery store and bring them to Huffman. Every box top you collect raises cash for Huffman and helps the school fund items it needs. Year End Nurse’s Notes ∙ MEDICATION PICK‐UP‐Please remember to pick up any medications your child may have in the clinic on or before the last day of school. We would appreciate having rescue medications such as inhalers and Epi‐Pens until the last day of school. All medications will be destroyed, after school, on June the 7th. ∙ For summer camps, if you need a copy of your child’s immunizations, you can access and print them through the PISD Parent Portal. ∙ Parents of children living with Diabetes, Asthma, Allergies with Epi‐Pen or Seizures: If your child has a spring or summer doctor appointment, please have the school action plan forms filled out for next school year! Doctor’s offices get bombarded with form requests at the beginning of each school year. ∙ All the forms necessary for us to administer medications and treatments at school are also available on the PISD website under School Health Services. Go to Parent Checklist and Forms tab or to http://www.pisd.edu/parents/health/checklist.shtml ∙ Please remember to fill in the sections for any food allergies or health issues that you would like for the school to be aware of on your child’s Emergency Form via Parent Portal. Dear Parents: As we near the end of this school year, the Food and Nutritional Services would like to share the following important information with you:
Effective May 1st, 2013 students/staff will need to have money in their lunch accounts or money in hand to purchase school lunches.
No students will go without food. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich or cheese sandwich and milk will be offered at a cost of $1.25 to those who do not have money. This amount will be charged to the student’s account.
If your child transfers to another school within Plano ISD, the balance in your child’s account, positive or negative, will automatically be transferred to the new school.
Please make sure your child’s account is paid in full before the last day of school, June 7th, 2013. As always, credit card payments can be made by using PayPAMS. To register, visit the following website: http://k12.pisd.edu/food-and-nutritional-services/ for instructions.

A partir del 1 de Mayo del 2013, los alumnos/personal deberán tener fondos en sus cuentas de comida o traer dinero en mano para comprar una comida escolar.
A ningún estudiante se le dejara sin comer. Para los que no traen dinero, se les ofrecerá un emparedado de mantequilla de maní y jalea o de queso, con leche, a un costo de $1.25. Esta cantidad será cargada a la cuenta del estudiante.
Si su hijo se transfiere a otra escuela dentro del Distrito Escolar de Plano, el saldo de la cuenta de su hijo, sea negativo o positivo, será transferido automáticamente a la escuela nueva.
Asegúrese, por favor, de que la deuda entera de su hijo sea pagada por completo antes del último día de escuela, el 7 de Junio del 2013. Como siempre, se pueden efectuar pagos por tarjeta de crédito mediante el sistema de PayPAMS.
