Eternal God, originator of Fatherhood, I offer up to you the blessed office of Father. May the men who occupy this dignified place protect and care for their children and wives with valiant honesty, heroic chastity, noble humility, and stern sobriety. Ignite a fire in the hearts of men, O God, so that they may respond to the Divine call to fatherhood, both natural and spiritual, and model themselves after the holy example of Blessed Joseph, Father of the Universal Church. Through his intercession, may fathers be strengthened to flee from sin, subdue their flesh, wrestle with the powers of corruption, banish the darkness, and obtain victory over hell and its agents. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, sanctifier of all men, to the glory of God the Father. ~Amen.
CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING This Sunday the Scripture readings give us the image of growth and development. Many people can be an important influence in our personal growth and development, particularly our faith. Who was it that cooperated with God and is planting the seeds of faith in your life? How are you nurturing them? What are the fruits of that faith? When we are deeply rooted in the life of God our Father, then we know we will bear the fruits of life, charity, compassion, mercy and forgiveness. The love of God will grow in us to help us to reach out to the unloved and forgotten, to the poor and dispossessed and to those whom God shows special care – the poor and vulnerable. Este domingo la lectura de la Escritura nos ofrece la imagen del crecimiento y desarrollo. Mucha gente puede ser una influencia importante en nuestro crecimiento y desarrollo personal, particularmente en nuestra fe ¿Quién cooperaba con Dios sembrando semillas de fe en su vida? ¿Cómo está usted nutriéndolas? ¿Cuáles son los frutos de esa fe? Cuando estamos profundamente enraizados en la vida de Dios, nuestro Padre, entonces sabemos que daremos frutos de vida, caridad, compasión, misericordia y perdón. Vacation Bible School Registration VBS will be held the week of July 23-27 from 9am to noon. Venture onto an uncharted island where kids survive and thrive. Anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through life’s storms. Each day at Shipwrecked VBS, kids travel through faith-building rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventures. Online registration for parishioners is now being accepted at www.vbspro.events/p/ smmvbs. Please register early to reserve your spot. The cost is $35.00 per child. Registration for non-parishioners will open only if space is available after June 15 th . We are also in need of many volunteers to help us provide a great program for the children of our parish. Ordination to the Priesthood
With great joy and thanksgiving, Bishop Joe Vásquez will ordain Deacons Henry Cuellar, Andrew Dinh and Paul-Michael Piega to the priesthood June 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin. A reception will follow the Mass. First Masses for the newly ordained priests are as follows: Father Henry Cuellar Jr. will celebrate Mass in Spanish at 8 a.m. on June 24 and in English at 10 a.m. at Santa Barbara Parish in Austin. Father Andrew Dinh will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m. on June 24 at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Parish in Austin. Father Paul-Michael Piega will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m. on June 24 at St. Mary Catholic Center in College Station.
EIM Workshop and Compliance EIM compliance is required of all clergy, religious, seminarians, diocesan employees, parish and Catholic school employees, and adult lay persons who volunteer in ministry with minors or vulnerable adults; or in any ministry, program or organization that serves youth or vulnerable adults in any manner, or functions at a time and place where they are typically present. To be compliant, one submits an EIM Application for Ministry (one time only) and attends an EIM Workshop every three years. Contact your parish EIM site administrator, Chuck Ramos at

Young Adults Invited to TEC
Sponsored by the Diocese of Austin, Together Encounter Christ (TEC) of Central Texas is a weekend of prayer, reflections/talks, group discussions, live music and activities. TEC is specifically designed for youth who are at least juniors in high school and young adults through their 20s. However, older adults are also welcome to participate. TEC of Central Texas weekends are held at the beautiful Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center which is in the hill country just outside Burnet Texas. There are only two TEC of Central Texas retreats each year and availability is limited. The next retreat will take place on Friday Morning, June 22 - Sunday Evening, June 24. Registration - Catholic Women’s Conference The third annual Catholic Women’s Conference will be held Sept. 8 at the Performing Arts Center at Westlake High School in Austin. This year’s theme is “Generation to Generation.” The conference will kick off at St. Theresa Parish in Austin on the evening of Friday, Sept. 7 with praise and worship led by the musical trio His Own, as well as adoration and confession. Saturday’s events will feature a keynote presentation by Judy Landrieu Klein, author of “Mary’s Way: The Power of Entrusting Your Children to God.” Other activities will include breakout sessions, a variety of vendors and exhibits as well as Mass celebrated by Bishop Joe Vásquez. Know Your Rights Presentation in Marble Falls Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services will host a Know Your Rights presentation at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Marble Falls on the basic constitutional rights of every person within the U.S. The presentation will include information on how to interact with law enforcement, elements of disaster planning and more. The presentation is June 24 at 1 p.m. in the Alexander Parish Life Center.
