2018 Regional Assembly: A Message from Our Regional Minister Friends, I want to personally thank the Bluebonnet Area for hosting the 2018 Regional Assembly, November 2-3, 2018 at Central Christian Church in Austin Texas. We have been so blessed by the cooperation and hospitality you have shown. I hope we will be able to see many of you face-to-face during the Assembly. This year, the preacher for Friday evening’s worship will be Rev. Feliberto Pereira, founder and executive director of the Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries in Los Fresnos, Texas. The Saturday evening preacher will be Rev. Caroline Hamilton-Arnold, Associate Director for Week of Compassion. We will have some significant business to cover. Healthy Boundaries for Clergy Training Listed below are locations offering Healthy Boundaries Training for 2018 and early 2019. To be certified for standing, the CCSW requires this course to be taken every five years by all clergy, commissioned and ordained, active or retired from a CCSWapproved provider. A retired-inactive minister may obtain a waiver to this requirement if: (1) there are health-related issues, or (2) a retired person who is not participating in any kind of ministerial functions. All requests for an exemption should be directed to Zena McAdams, Interim Regional Executive at [email protected] or (817) 926-4687. In order to maintain standing in 2019, ministers need to check the status of their boundaries training with the regional office and, if needed, register for a course. Clergy who have not had boundaries training since December 31, 2012, must complete training by February 28, 2019, for renewal of standing next year. 2018 CYF Fall Rally Help us spread the word that CYF Fall Rally will be November 911, 2018 at Disciple Oaks Camp & Retreat. This rally is for all current high school youth. We are using CampDoc again to register online. Use this link app.campdoc.com/register/oaks You can also go to discipleoaksretreat.net and go to summer camps and click online registration. If you attended summer camp this past summer your information is still in CampDoc use the same login screen name and password from this summer to register for CYF Fall Rally. Ordination Process Information regarding the ordination process overseen by the Southwest Regional Committee on Ministry (RCOM) is available at www.ccsw.org/ordination-process/.
