CES Families, It’s STAAR time in Texas. We are excited to show the state of Texas how smart our CISD students are. There are some strategies that will help prepare your child for a positive testing experience. For example, one thing you can do is simply keep your child positive and let them know that we all believe in them. Another tip is to make sure your child has enough rest prior to testing time. An elementary student needs around 10 hours of sleep each night. Next, please make sure your child has a balanced breakfast and consistent routine in the mornings. On the day of testing, hard candy will be the only allowable item your child needs to bring to school; snacks will be provided by PTO. We will also be a closed campus on testing days, therefore we ask that there are no lunch visitors or deliveries. It’s very important that our students arrive to school on time every day, but especially on testing days. We also ask that you schedule appointments on nontesting days. After a day of STAAR testing, please make sure you praise your child for working so hard. We are so proud of them and know they will rock the STAAR! Sincerely, Julie Silman

Issue 13 April 8, 2019 Familias del CES, Es tiempo de STAAR en Texas. Estamos muy contentos de mostrar el estado. de Texas que inteligentes son nuestros estudiantes de CISD. Hay algunos Estrategias que ayudarán a preparar a su hijo para una prueba positiva. experiencia. Por ejemplo, una cosa que puede hacer es simplemente mantener a su hijo positivo y hacerles saber que todos creemos en ellos. Otro consejo es asegurarse de que su hijo tenga suficiente descanso antes del tiempo de prueba. Un estudiante de primaria necesita alrededor de 10 horas de sueño cada noche. A continuación, asegúrese de que su hijo tenga un desayuno equilibrado y una rutina constante por las mañanas. El día de la prueba, los caramelos duros serán el único artículo permitido que su hijo necesita traer a la escuela; los bocadillos serán proporcionados por PTO.
