LEVELLAND I.S.D. SUMMER SCHOOL 2015
Elementary/Middle School Summer School A summer school session for Levelland I.S.D. students who were referred by the regular school teacher will be offered by the district. Students in Kindergarten will meet at Levelland Academic Beginnings Center (LABC). Students in 1st thru 3rd grade during the 2014-2015 school year will meet at Capitol Elementary and 4th thru 8th grade students will attend class at Levelland Middle School (LMS). The classes at LABC and Capitol Elementary will begin on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 and run through Friday, June 26, 2015. Classes at LMS will also begin on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, but will end on Tuesday, June 23. All classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon. Lunch will be served from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. There will be no tuition charge for LISD students but non-LISD students will be charged a fee of $100. Kindergarten students should pre-register at LABC on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students in grades 1-3 who have not pre-registered may do so at Capitol Elementary on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students in grades 4-8 who have not pre-registered may do so at Levelland Middle School on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bilingual/English As A Second Language (ESL) Summer School Bilingual/ESL summer school for students who were enrolled in grades Prekindergarten and Kindergarten during the 2014-2015 school year will begin on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 and will operate until Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Classes will meet at Capitol Elementary from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with lunch being served from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. (La escuela de Bilingue/ESL de verano para los estudiantes que asistieron a PK/K durante este año escolar comenzará el miércoles, 2 de junio y terminará el miercoles, 23 de junio. Migrant Summer School A migrant summer school (Project SMART) will be held at Capitol Elementary. Classes will begin on Monday, June 8, 2015 and end on Friday, June 19, 2015. Summer Library Program
The summer library program will extend over a four week period, beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The Capitol Elementary Library will open four days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
High School STAAR Remediation Program Levelland High School will also offer STAAR remediation for high school students who have failed one or more portions of the STAAR test. These classes will meet at the High School and will begin on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 and continue until Friday, July 3, 2015. Registration for these classes will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the High School Commons from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. STAAR testing will be held from July 6-10. There will be no charge for this program except for out-of-district participants who will be charged a fee of $ 100. For more information please call the High School at 894-8515. Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE)/21st Century Grant Students who attend LABC, Levelland Intermediate (LIS), LMS or LHS are also eligible to participate in the many activities planned on those respective campuses as ACE Grant participants. LIS students will meet at LMS during the summer due to upcoming construction. Activities will begin on Monday, June 1, 2015 and will end on Friday, June 26, 2015. Registration is required to attend any of the ACE programs and is currently available on the participating campuses. Students will attend from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. They may eat lunch in the Capitol or LMS cafeterias, too. Activities vary and may be obtained from the respective campuses or on the district website at levellandisd.net.
