Dear Parishioners, Understanding the need for God’s mercy for us, during this year of Mercy, along with the Universal Church we will be praying the Divine Mercy Novena starting on Good Friday, 19th April, 2019, at 3.00 pm and end with the special prayer service on the Divine Mercy Sunday 28th April, 2019 at 3.00 pm. This is for both St. Peter and St. Mark parishes but will be held at St. Peter Church all those days. Deacon Darrell and I, will be leading the Novenas and the Service on feast day. I invite parishioners from both the parishes to join us praying for God’s unconditional Love and Mercy through this devotion. May you have a wonderful Holy Triduum! God Bless You. The Divine Mercy - Novena and the Feast The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a relatively recent but very popular devotion revealed by Our Lord to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun. On February 22nd, 1931 Christ Jesus appeared to St. Faustina and revealed the Image with rays radiating from His heart and said, “Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus I trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and throughout the world.” (Diary 47)

• I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I myself will defend it as My own glory. (Diary 48) I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature”: Jesus, I trust in You." (Diary 327) The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him. (Diary 299) Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace. (Diary 313) By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works. (Diary742)
On Good Friday 1937, Christ Jesus appeared to her and asked her to recite this chaplet for nine days, starting on Good Friday and ending on the Octave of Easter (the Sunday after Easter Sunday), now known as Divine Mercy Sunday or The Feast of Mercy. The chaplet is most often recited during those nine days, but it can be prayed at any time of the year, and Saint Maria Faustina recited it almost unceasingly. Concerning the Feast of Mercy Jesus said: Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (Diary300) I want the image solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it. (Diary 341) This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of my tender mercies. (Diary420) I want to grant complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of My mercy. (Diary 1109) St. John in his first letter insists on the presence of the invisible with the visible, the Spirit with the water and the Blood. The Image of the pierced side of Christ pouring out blood and water reminds us that the Cross, love in action, is the price of mercy. "As I have loved you so also should you love one another." (Jn 13:34)
Queridos Hermanos: Entendiendo la necesidad de la misericordia de Dios hacia nosotros, por el mundo en que vivimos, con la Iglesia Universal estaremos rezando la Novena de la Divina Misericordia empezando el Viernes Santo Abril 19, 2019 a las 3:00 pm y terminara con un servicio de oración especial el día de la MIsericordia Domingo Abril 28, 2019 a las 3:00pm. Esto es para las dos parroquias San Pedro y San Marcos, pero todos esos días estaremos en San. Pedro. Yo estare dirigiendo los 10 días de servicio e invito a todos los feligreses a unirse con migo orando por el amor incondicional de Dios y su Misericordia por medio de esta devoción. La Novena y Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia La Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia es relativamente reciente, pero una devoción muy popular revelada por Nuestro Señor a Santa María Faustina Kowalska, una monja Polaca. En Febrero 22, 1931 Cristo Jesús se apareció a Santa Faustina y le revelo la imagen con los rayos radiantes de su corazón y dijo: “Pinta una imagen de acuerdo al modelo que tu ves, con la firma: Jesús en Tí confío. Yo deseo que esta imagen sea venerada, primero en tu capilla, y luego en todo el mundo.”(Diario 47) • • •

Yo prometo que el alma que venere esta imagen no perecerá, también prometo victoria sobre sus enemigos ya aquí en la tierra, especialmente a la hora de la muerte. Yo Mismo la defenderé como Mi misma Gloria. (Diario48) Yo ofrezco a los hombres el recipiente con el cual han de venir por gracias a la Fuente de la Misericordia. Ese recipiente es esta imagen con la firma “Jesus en Tí confío”.(Diario327) Los dos rayos significan La Sangre y El Agua. El rayo pálido simboliza el agua que justifica a las almas. EL rayo rojo simboliza la Sangre que es la vida de las almas. Ambos rayos brotaron de las entrañas mas profundas de mi Misericordia cuando mi Corazón agonizante fue abierto en la cruz por la lanza. Estos rayos protegen a las almas de la indignación de mi Padre. Bienaventurado quien viva a la sombra de ellos, porque no le alcanzara la justa mano de Dios. Deseo que el primer domingo después de la Pascua de Resurrección sea la Fiesta de la Misericordia.(Diario299) No en la belleza del color, ni en la del pincel, esta la grandeza de esta imagen, sino en Mi Gracia.(Diario313) A través de esta imagen concederé muchas gracias a las almas; ella a de recordar a los hombres las exigencias de mi Misericordia, porque la fe sin obras, por fuerte que sea, es inútil.(Diario747)
El Viernes Santo 1937, Cristo Jesús se apareció a Santa María Faustina y le dijo que recitará esta coronilla por nueve días, empezando el Viernes Santo y terminando en el octavo de Pascua (el Domingo después de Domingo de Pascua), ahora conocida como Domingo de la Divina Misericordia o Fiesta de la Misericordia. La coronilla mas que nada es recitada durante esos nueve días, pero puede ser rezada en cualquier tiempo del año, y Santa María Faustina la recitaba incesantemente. Concerniente a la Fiesta de la Misericordia Jesús dijo: Quien sea que se acerque a la Fuente de Vida en este día le será concedido el perdón total de los pecados y del castigo.(Diario300) Yo quiero que la imagen sea bendecida solemnemente el primer domingo después de la Pascua, y quiero que sea venerada públicamente, para que cada alma la conozca.(Diario341) Esta Fiesta ha salido de mis entrañas de mi Misericordia, y es confirmada en el abismo de mis gracias(Diario420) Yo quiero conceder el perdón total a las almas que se acerquen a la confesión y reciban la Sagrada Comunión en la Fiesta de Mi Misericordia.(Diario1109) San Juan en su primera carta insiste en la presencia de lo invisible con lo visible, el Espíritu con el Agua y la Sangre. La imagen del lado traspasado de Cristo brotando sangre y agua nos recuerda, la Cruz, amor en acción, es el precio de misericordia. “Como Yo los he amado, así deben amarse el uno al otro.” (Juan13:34)
