In July, Steve Hawley will make his 7th mission trip to Can Tho, Vietnam to assist the congregation there. He will preach, teach conversational English and assist the children at the English schools used in outreach. Your contributions to purchase school supplies, bicycles, food and whatever else is needed to encourage the brethren and serve the poor would be greatly appreciated. Please make your check to WCC and notate Vietnam/Hawley or you may egive. Steve covets your prayers as the work grows in this communist nation.
Carole Booker is making her 5th mission trip to Asia, this time to Nepal. She will be working with a safe-house ministry, which focuses on poor and uneducated young women who are at risk of falling victims to human trafficking. Those admitted to the safe-house are provided room and board, vocational training and Bible lessons. The safe-house is already at its full capacity of 33. Carole will be teaching these girls daily. The danger for these young women is very real and the need for Christian influence is great. Please pray for this work in Nepal and for Carole’s safe travels July 5-27. The University of Houston Cougar Track & Field program We will be hosting over 700 athletes, coaches, and support staff from the Universities of the American Athletic Conference May 12th-May14th. In order to host the absolute best conference meet in the country, we will need volunteers. We are looking for a few good people who are friendly, love sports, don't mind being outdoors and willing to cheer us on to Conference Champions ! No experience is needed.
