Rioja Alavesa Wine Route HISTORY AND CULTURE Set in the south of the province de Álava, Rioja Alavesa is made up of 15 municipalities that still conserve the charm of the original mediaeval towns. With 12,000 inhabitants, this territory has 13,500 hectares of vineyards and almost 400 wineries that each year produce 100 million bottles of wine under the control of the Regulatory Council of the Rioja Qualified D.O. Rioja Alavesa lets you experience the contrasts between underground wineries, family wine cellars and age-old wineries in contrast with the most avant-garde architectural projects of the day. An incredible experience that lets you share the warmth of the people of Rioja Alavesa and learn about the traditions that have been cultivated in this land down the centuries.

EL VINO Rioja Alavesa cuenta con 13.500 hectáreas de viñedos. Los vinos de esta zona están elaborados dentro del marco de control del Consejo Regulador de la D.O. Calificada Rioja, y gozan de un más que merecido prestigio. La calidad de estos caldos se debe, en gran medida, al suelo arcillocalcáreo, al clima y a la ubicación de los viñedos tras la sierra de Cantabria, así como al cuidado de sus gentes en conjugar el legado histórico del proceso de elaboración con las nuevas tecnologías. La mayor parte del vino se elabora a partir de la variedad tempranillo, que ofrece un tinto de color brillante, fino aroma, sabor afrutado y paladar agradable.

THE WINE Rioja Alavesa has 13,500 hectares of vineyards. The wines of this area are made under the aegis of the Regulatory Council of the Rioja Qualified D.O., and enjoy a well-earned prestige. The quality of these wines is largely due to the clay-calcareous soil, the climate and the location of the vineyards behind the Cantabria mountains, but also to the care of its people in combining the historic legacy of the production process with new technologies. Most of the wine is made from the Tempranillo grape variety which produces a bright coloured red, fine aroma, fruity flavour and pleasant palate. 5

La Ruta del Vino de Rioja Alavesa está situada al sur de Euskadi, al margen de la ribera del Ebro y protegida por la sierra de Cantabria. Su capital, Laguardia, se halla a 45 km de VitoriaGasteiz por el Puerto Herrera y a menos de 18 km de Logroño. Los aeropuertos de Logroño, Vitoria y Bilbao facilitan el acceso por vía aérea, mientras la autopista A-68 y la carretera N-111 proporcionan unas excelentes comunicaciones por carretera.

En la Ruta del Vino Utiel-Requena podrás conocer cómo se realizan los vinos y cavas de esta región visitando sus bodegas centenarias, dejarte llevar en los maravillosos parajes naturales de la zona o recorrer las calles de unos municipios llenos de historia, dónde encontrarás museos creados en torno al mundo de la viticultura, así como restaurantes que te permitirán degustar una increíble oferta gastronómica. Cómo llegar La autovía A-3 atraviesa longitudinalmente la D.O. Utiel-Requena. También dispones de 2 carreteras nacionales: la N-330, que partiendo de la provincia de Cuenca pasa por Sinarcas, Utiel, Requena, y la N-322 que une Requena con la provincia de Albacete. Además, una amplia red de carreteras locales enlazan el resto de municipios. Por otra parte, el aeropuerto de Valencia se encuentra a menos de 60 km de la comarca, y también dispones de servicio de autobús y tren con estaciones en Camporrobles, Utiel y Requena. 11

How to get there The A-3 dual-carriage-way crosses the UtielRequena D.O. lengthwise. There are also 2 national highways: the N-330, running from the province of Cuenca through Sinarcas, Utiel, Requena, and the N322 that runs from Requena to the province of Albacete. There is also a good local road system linking the area with neighbouring towns. Valencia airport is less than 60 km away, and there is also a bus and train service with stations at Camporrobles, Utiel and Requena.

Cómo llegar Situada en el centro de la Comunidad Foral de Navarra, al sur de Pamplona, La Ruta del Vino de Navarra está perfectamente comunicada por sus carreteras, autopistas y autovías (A-15 a Pamplona y San Sebastián, AP-68 a Logroño y Zaragoza, A-12 a Logroño). En cuanto al transporte por ferrocarril, tanto Olite como Tafalla disponen de estación de tren. Y el aeropuerto de Pamplona-Noáin se encuentra a menos de 30 km.

Con la participación de más de 20 bodegas y mucho público local, es la excusa perfecta para visitar la Ruta Montilla Moriles.

VÍVID Desde el 01/04/2016 Con la primavera se reinicia el ciclo de la viña del Empordà, en la Costa Brava, y con ella nace Vívid, con más de cincuenta actividades entorno al vino para que conozcas las comarcas del Alt y Baix Empordà. 18

VÍVID From 01/04/2016 Spring sees the rejuvenation of the vineyards of the Empordà counties on the Costa Brava. Likewise, it sees the birth of Vívid. The Vívid program comprises over fifty activities, includes beginners’ classes and instructed tastings; cooking with Wine workshops, open door days, theatre; music and poetry paired with Wine; winetherapy treatments and outdoor activities such as wine hikes and wine kayaking. 18

Arte mudéjar y diversidad paisajística en Campo de Cariñena HISTORIA Y CULTURA El Campo de Cariñena es una de las zonas vitivinícolas con más tradición de nuestro país y actualmente sigue reinventándose a sí misma. Su idiosincrasia perdura, el modo de interpretar la cultura y la tradición vinícola cambia, evoluciona, y por tanto, la forma de definir y presentar sus vinos es distinta, más actual y moderna. La Ruta del Vino del Campo de Cariñena nos abre las puertas a un genuino viaje entre sus cepas, con interesantes propuestas y experiencias en torno al vino.

La componen los municipios: Aguarón, Alfamén, Cariñena, Cosuenda, Encinacorba, Longares, Mezalocha, Paniza y Villanueva de Huerva.

PATRIMONIO Joyas arquitectónicas que se remontan hasta la época medieval y el Renacimiento, y mucho más atrás en el tiempo, las huellas de dinosaurios que habitaron estas tierras. Pero el tesoro más bello es el mudéjar, Patrimonio de la Humanidad, con su inconfundible componente musulmán, gótico y renacentista en una original fusión estética. En los altiplanos y laderas de la Sierra de Algairén el manto vegetal se funde con los viñedos en una paleta de infinitos y cambiantes colores. Cómo llegar La Comarca Campo de Cariñena se encuentra ubicada en pleno Valle del Ebro, tiene una extensión de 14.440 hectáreas. Ocupa una situación geográfica excepcional, ya que se encuentra en el mismo eje de comunicaciones del Valle del Ebro con Levante, así como en pleno trazado norte-sur que estructura el territorio aragonés. Esta situación la convierte en verdadera alternativa de enlace entre el País Vasco y la Comunidad Valenciana. Se encuentra a 42 km al Sur de Zaragoza, 290 km de Madrid y 360 de Barcelona. Desde Zaragoza por A-23, desde Madrid A-2/E-90/N-220; desde Barcelona AP-2/E-90/A-2/N-II Se puede acceder en tren desde Zaragoza y Teruel.

Mudejar art and landscape diversity in Campo de Cariñena HISTORY AND CULTURE Campo de Cariñena is one of the most traditional winegrowing zones of our country and currently continues reinventing itself. Its idiosyncresy endures, the way of interpreting wine culture and tradition change and evolve, and therefore the way of defining and presenting its wines is different. The Campo de Cariñena Wine Route opens the doors for us to a genuine journey among its vineyards, with interesting wine-related proposals and experiences. The Campo de Cariñena Wine Rout is comprised of these 9 municipalites: Aguarón, Alfamén, Cariñena, Cosuenda, Encinacorba, Longares, Mezalocha, Paniza and Villanueva de Huerva.

HERITAGE Architectural jewels that date back to the medieval era and the Renaissance, and much further back in time, the tracks of dinosaurs that in habited these lands. But the most beautiful reassure is Mudejar. World Heritage, with its unmistakable Muslim, Gothic, and Renaissance components in an original aesthetic fusion. In the plateaus and slopes of the Sierra de Algairén the plant cover fuses with the vineyard, in a palette of infinite and changing colurs. How to get there The region Campo de Cariñena is located right in the Valle del Ebro, or Ebro Valley, and it has an area of 14,440 hectares. It occupies an exceptional geographic location, since it is situated in the very communication axis of the Ebro Valley with Levante, as well as in the middle of the NorthSouth route, which organises the Aragonese territory. This location transforms the region in a true alternative of connection between the País Vasco (Basque Country) and Valencia.
