Attendance Guidelines Ferguson Parents, Did you know that starting in kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school? In fact, missing 10% (or about 18 days) can make it harder to learn to read! Students can still fall behind even if they just miss a day or two every few weeks. Absences and tardies can affect the whole classroom because the teacher may need to slow down learning to help late or absent students catch up. Please help all our students succeed by getting your child to school on time every day!

TIPS:

Set a regular bed time and morning routine. Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before. Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.

Reasons to Miss School • • • • •

Personal illness or attendance in school endangering a student’s health or the health of others Death or serious illness in the student’s immediate family Observance of religious holidays Conditions rendering attendance impossible or hazardous to student health or safety Conditions mandated by order of a governmental agency

ALL OTHER REASONS WILL BE MARKED UNEXCUSED You must send a note explaining your student’s absence in with your student when they return.

Students may begin entering the building at 8:20am.

Your child must be in class at 8:50am. If your child arrives after 8:50am, you must check them in at the front desk.

Enfermedad personal o corre riesgo la salud del estudiante si asiste a la escuela o la de otros La muerte o enfermedad grave de un familiar cercano al estudiante ‘ feriado religioso que requiera qe el Dia estuiante falte la escuela Condiciones que indiquen que la asistencia del estudiante a la escuela es imposible o peligrosa para la salud o seguridad del estudiante Las condiciones impuestas por orden de una agencia gubernamental TODAS LAS DEMAS RAZONES ‘ SE MARCARAN INJUSTIFICADAS

Debe enviar una nota explicando la ausencia del estudiante con su estudiante al regresar a la escuela.

Su hijo/a debe estar dentro de la clase a las 8:50a.m. ‘ Si su hijo/a llega despues de las 8:50a.m., usted debe ‘ registrarlo en la recepcion.
