"Sponsors for the sacrament of Confirmation must meet the conditions outlined in the Code of Canon Law Can. 874 §1 and in this policy. The person admitted to the role of sponsor must: 1. be designated by the one to be confirmed; 2. not be one of the candidate’s parents; 3. is to have the qualifications and the intention of performing this role; 4. have completed the sixteenth year of age; 5. be a Catholic who has been confirmed and has already received the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist; 6. be an active, practicing Catholic; 7. be receiving the sacraments of Penance and Communion frequently; 8. be married in the Catholic Church, if married; 9. lead a life in harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken" (Pg 11, guidelines) Pautas para los patrocinadores:

"Los patrocinadores del sacramento de la Confirmación deben cumplir las condiciones descritas en el Código de Derecho Canónico Can. 874 §1 y en esta política. La persona admitida al papel de patrocinador debe: 1. ser designado por el que se confirmará; 2. no ser uno de los padres del candidato; 3. es tener las calificaciones y la intención de realizar este rol; 4. haber completado el dieciseisavo año de edad; 5. ser un católico que ha sido confirmado y que ya ha recibido el sacramento de la Sagrada Eucaristía; 6. ser un católico activo y practicante; 7. recibir los sacramentos de Penitencia y Comunión con frecuencia; 8. casarse en la Iglesia Católica, si está casado; 9. llevar una vida en armonía con la fe y el papel que se debe emprender "(Pg 11, directrices)
