THEATRE ARTS • Students will increase their understanding of heritage and traditions through historical and cultural studies in theatre. Students will have opportunities to dramatize and role-play in a variety of school performances.

TEATRO • Los estudiantes aumentaran su conocimiento de la herencia y las tradiciones a través de los estudios históricos y culturales en el teatro. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de dramatizar y hacer una variedad de presentaciones escolares.

ART • Students will learn the basic elements and principles of art by participating in drawing and painting activities as well as in other art techniques.

ARTE • Los estudiantes aprenderán los elementos básicos y los principios del arte, participando en las actividades de dibujo y pintura, así como en técnicas de arte.

BAND • Students learn the basic elements and principles of music through the use of a variety of instruments. Students will perform during special school-related events. Some instruments may be borrowed from the district, but others may have to be purchased by the student.

• Students will learn the basic elements and principles of music through the use of stringed instruments such as viola, cello, violin, guitar, and/or bass.

CHOIR • Students apply the expressive technical skills of music through creative performance as well as learn the cultural and creative nature of musical artistry.

• Students enrolled in these classes develop creative expression through motion. These students will study the historical period, as well as the cultural heritage related to certain dance periods. In addition, students enrolled in these classes for three years may qualify to receive high school graduation credit.

TOUCH DATA SYSTEMS • Students learn basic computer concepts as well as participate in hands-on activities to learn computer skills and system applications.

• Students will gain the knowledge to understand cultural practices (what people do) and products (what people create) and to increase their understanding of other cultures. Students will develop an understanding of the nature of language including grammar. Students will also enhance their personal and public lives and meet the career demands of the 21st century by using languages other than English.

P.E. (Physical Education) • Students will work on improving their physical strength, total body fitness, coordination, agility and endurance through regular conditioning exercises and distance running. In addition, students enrolled in these classes for three years may qualify to receive high school graduation credit.

Pre-Registration Process • Every student will receive a Pre-Registration Form • All forms must be signed by parents and submitted to Counselor. • Student’s classes will be scheduled based on student’s selections. • Schedule changes WILL ONLY be allowed during registration or the first week of school. Schedule changes are only made with administrator approval.
