Proximity to Mexico  Over one million (1,000,000) people living in

Mexico within a twenty mile Radius of our church.  Immigration provides opportunities for sharing the gospel both north and south of the border

Colonias of South Texas  By definition a colonia is a “substandard

subdivision.”  In Hidalgo county: over 200,000 living in substandard conditions.  Among the nation’s highest unemployment.  Among the nation’s highest poverty levels.  High incidence of third world diseases.  Ethnicity: 98% Hispanic population.  Scarcity of Churches of Christ.

congregations (180 in membership)  Recife has 20 congregations (totaling 1300 in membership)  9 baptisms in 2008  Priority: focus on community outreach through adult literacy training and food drives for the poor

Moskitia, Honduras  Fidel Cobos has worked 12 years in this region

 In 2008 he held 14 campaigns in 9 native

villages  11 baptisms  28 restorations

School of Preaching  Presently instructing 40 students at three

campuses  Carrol preached 4 campaigns in Honduras and 9 meetings in Mexico  22 baptisms resulted from these campaigns  Correspondence ministry  

Over 1000 students in 18 states, Mexico and 16 countries in Central and South America Provided materials to over 600 students in 2008
