It may be used with uninsulated bus bar or cable up to 600 volts or with insulated primary conductors at higher voltages. Core and coils The core and coil assembly is a ring-type core toroidally wound with a fully distributed secondary winding. The assembly is then completely enclosed in molded thermoplastic rubber. Polarity markings are permanently molded into the case. Insulation Thermoplastic rubber insulating material is permanently molded to the core and coil assembly, resulting in a compact unit with excellent mechanical, thermal, and dielectric characteristics. Secondary terminals and cover Large compression-type terminals are equipped with slotted hex-head tightening screws. A rotatable shorting bar is positioned on a center post located midway between the terminals. The center post also serves as a third terminal on dual ratio transformers. A clear polycarbonate cover allows a visual check of connections. The cover is keyed to the shorting bar to ensure proper installation and can be sealed with a sealing wire. Base The base is constructed of corrosion-resistant aluminum and secured to the encapsulated base support by four symmetrically located screws.
Primary The RLC has a 5.5" (140 mm) round primary opening that can accept 4" square bus bar or multiple cables. Test reports Test reports are stored electronically and can be e-mailed in various formats at the time of shipment. Standards This unit can be tested to all applicable IEEE, CSA, or IEC standards as requested and is a UL Recognized Component.
