Peru has solid and robust contribution, technically validated and with political support for its implementation.
Mandate for technical level support on iNDC: PlanCC
APPROACH AND STRATEGY
Strategy: Work on voluntary commitments and establish new contribution goals with technical and political support
1. Build on what it has already been done at a technical level (PlanCC) and other baseline studies: Sound evidence 2. Take advantage of PlanCC’s knowledge platform (MAPS) and work with strategic Allies: Credible. 3. Develop a participative process to build and validate a technical proposal : Engagement. 4. Adopt the contribution at a political level: Relevant 5. National Road map for implementing actions towards a Low Carbon Development: Transformative
ORGANIZATION 1. Technical Level: Research and technical teams for PlanCC builds the proposal considering ministerial stakeholders and mitigation projects 2. Technical Advice: the Low Emission Development Working Group of the National Commission on Climate Change is in charge of validating the contribution proposal. 3. Technical – Political Level: Involvement of an Advisory Committee on Decision Making.
4. Political High Level: - Adoption of the contribution at a high level. -
Technical level coordination : Climate Change Office and its National Climate Agenda Support Group. (1,2,3). High Level and Political Coordination: Ministry of the Environment, as President of the Inter ministerial commission : Peruvian Plan for Climate Change Contributions (R. S. N° 163-2014-PCM) and VM as President of the National Commission on Climate Change (4)
