Research shows that children who read at home with parents do better in school. It helps when parents:

 If your child is in 2nd - 8th, please check their agenda book each day for homework, important dates, and behavior. This is a great communication tool between you and your child’s teachers. Character word of the month

 Make sure you send a note to the office after your child has been absent, tardy, or checked out early. Leaving school early without a doctor’s excuse has the same consequence as a tardy. See the Student/ Parent handbook for more details. The handbook is posted on our website and also available in the front office.  Come out and support our girls’ volleyball and our soccer teams this month. RESPONSIBILITY!



Keep reading materials available at home, such as kids’ magazines, books and newspapers.



Ask your child to read aloud and discuss the book. You can take turns reading, too.

Being responsible means that we make good choices, even  when no one is looking. We make good choices just because it is right and not because we will get credit or praise. Responsible  people can be trusted and depended upon. They are accountable for their actions. Work to make responsible choices!





Spirit Days are every Friday! You may wear an Ehrhart spirit shirt with jeans (No skinny jeans and no holes or rips). There will be no school for students on Columbus Day, Oct. 10th. See the back for other important Ehrhart dates.

Tell stories. Choose topics your child relates to, especially family history.



Point out words everywhere you go, such as on signs and on food packages.



Set a good example by reading every day. Show your child how worthwhile and fun it is.

TAKE NOTE: 

Talk about books, including the characters and your child’s reaction to them.

La investigación demuestra que los niños que leen en casa con sus padres se desarrollan mejor en la escuela. Ayuda cuando los padres:

 Si su niño está en 2ª - 8ª, rebise su agenda diara mente para la tarea, fechas importantes, y el comportamiento. Esta es una gran herramienta de comunicación entre usted y los maestros de su hijo.



Mantener materiales de lectura disponibles en el hogar, tales como revistas infantiles, libros y periódicos.



Pídale a su niño que lea en voz alta y discutir el libro. Se pueden turnarse para leer.



Hablar de libros,incluyendo los caracteres y la reacción de su hijo a ellos.



Contar historias. Elegir los temas que su hijo se relaciona, especialmente la
