INFORME ANUAL
ANNUAL REPORT CATHEDRAL OF ST. RAPHAEL & ST. PATRICK CHURCH
Two Parishes | One Mission “As a Eucharistic community, rich in diversity, united in our Catholic faith, we strive to live and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
G
reetings,
Fall is upon us and the harvest has begun. Farmers are gathering in the fruit of their labor from the seed scattered last spring. Our annual report for 20172018 is a time to reflect upon the harvest of our personal and community stewardship. Thanks to all who share so generously. This report is once again organized around the Archdiocesan priorities: 1) Education/Formation in the Catholic Faith 2) Enhancing the Sunday Assembly 3) Promoting vocations 4) Promoting stewardship as a way of life. Our awareness and appreciation of God’s generosity grows through prayer and community worship. Above all, I strongly encourage you to participate regularly in the Eucharist to express
your gratitude to God. In addition, join us at the events during the year. There are so many ways to share time and talent as reflected by the many service opportunities listed herein. Our sharing of treasure should be proportionate to what we have. Have you re-evaluated your giving of late? As you prayerfully review this report, are you reflected in the pictures, listing of activities, and contributions shared? Please consider for what you are grateful, and how you can return thanks to God. In the Prayer of St. Francis, we say, “It is in giving that we receive.” May you receive countless blessings for what you have or will share in the future. God bless you, Fr. Tom Toale

¿Has vuelto a evaluar tus donaciones últimamente?

ALL ARE WELCOME | The parishes of the Cathedral and St. Patrick Church take pride in being recognized as places of welcome and hospitality. To ensure that we are putting our mission statement to work a reassessment of the St. Patrick campus was done. In early March 2018 the public phase of St. Patrick’s All Are Welcome Campaign was announced under the leadership of Fr. Thomas Toale, Dave Schmitz, Gary Dolphin & Ann Schroeder. We at St. Patrick’s wish to be known as welcoming to all. However we are challenged, since many who have given their lives to this parish-the aging and disabled-cannot fully participate in the life of the parish. Preliminary work on the project to renovate the basement restrooms and install a chairlift between floors began in early August. With the help of volunteers we were able to demolish and prepare the areas that would be renovated and remove debris, reducing the cost by several thousand dollars. The renovation is scheduled to be finished by November 2018.
2018 DRA GRANT RECIPIENTS | The parish of St. Patrick Church would like to thank the Dubuque Racing Association for awarding us as a grant of $5,880 for the purchase of 300 new chairs for Foley Hall and 2 chair dollies for storage. 08

Farewell “May the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace.” Num 6:23-24
Ann Schroeder
On June 10, 2018, we lost a dear parishioner and friend to all she met. Ann is best described in an excerpt from her obituary at the time of death. “She was a familiar face to all parishioners at St. Pat’s and had a smile for everyone who came to the rectory door.” Many people in need came to the rectory and didn't leave unattended. Whether it be food, travel concerns, a friendly face, conversation, or prayer, she exemplified the care and concern of Jesus to all she encountered. She will truly be missed.
NOTE The anticipated date of dedication of the chairlift at St. Patrick's is November 3 at the 4pm Mass, with Archbishop Jackels presiding. At that time the new lift will be dedicated in her memory.
Fr. Alan Dietzenbach
After serving 4 years as the Associate Pastor for our parishes Fr. Alan began a new assignment in Marshalltown, Iowa, on July 10, 2018, as the pastor of St. Mary’s Parish.
