Head Lice/Nits Notice    Date: __________ Student________________________________ School: ________________________   Grade/Teacher: _________________  Dear Parent/Guardian:   Your child was found to have Head Lice and/or Nits.   The following steps should be taken to remove the lice or nits from your child’s hair:  1. Check the head for lice and nits. Nits are small, silvery eggs attached to the individual hairs. They resemble  dandruff, but unlike dandruff they are extremely difficult to remove.   2. Purchase lice shampoo. Comb dead and any remaining live lice out of the hair using a fine‐toothed nit comb.   3. You should routinely check your child’s head at least once per week. Head lice can easily move from one  head to another or from one object to another.   4. Check the heads of all other family members to be sure they are not infested.   5. After you have done the treatment:  A. Wash all clothing, towels and bed linens in very hot water & soap then dry in hot dryer.   B. Dry clean all clothing and hats that are not washable.  C. Vacuum all carpets and upholstered furniture and mattresses.   D. Place all stuffed animals in a tightly tied garbage bag & leave for one week to kill any remaining nits  or lice.   E. Call your doctor if no improvement.  6. Please send your child back to school the next day after the treatment.   If you have any questions, feel free to call your School Nurse.    _____________________________   School Nurse 

 

Aviso de Piojos/Liendres Fecha: ___________Nombre de Estudiante ___________________________Escuela: ___________________  Grado/Maestro(a) ____________________________   Estimados Padres/Tutores:   Se le han encontrado piojos y/o liendres en el cabello de su hijo(a). Por favor tome los siguientes pasos y  precauciones:   1. Revise el cabello de su hijo(a). Liendres son huevos pequeños que se unen a cada cabello individualmente.  Se asemejan a la caspa pero a contraste de la caspa son extremadamente difíciles de quitar.   2. Si usted encuentra piojos o liendres, puede comprar champú para piojos. Peine piojos muertos y cualquier  piojo vivo que queda fuera del cabello con un peine de dientes finos.  3. Se debe revisar por rutina la cabeza de su hijo(a) por lo menos una vez por semana. Los piojos se pueden  trasmitir fácilmente de un niño(a) a orto.  4. Revise el cabello del resto de la familia para asegurarse que no estén infestados.   5. Después del tratamiento:   A. Lave toda la ropa, toallas y cubiertos de cama en agua muy caliente.    

B. Lleve a la tintorería toda la ropa y cachuchas que no sean lavables.   C. Limpie todas las alfombras, muebles, y colchones tapizados con la aspiradora.   D. Coloque todos los animales de peluche en una bolsa de basura bien atada y deje durante una  semana para eliminar las liendres o piojos restantes.
