from our President JUAN IGNACIO CARBONEL PINTANEL I´m happy to present to you the development of International Youth Cooperation over the 2015 year. First, I am pleased to highlight the distance we have put between our work and the stereotype of children as “spoiled” and the emergence of a new generation which promises to be a revolutionary society for social transformation.

At International Youth Cooperation we are lucky to testify daily for the strength, creativity, impulse, idealism, and faith that motivates young people to be great causes of social change. Proof of this is the more than 5,000 young people, who every year make room between studies, friends, and sports to paint houses for families in need, give breakfast to the homeless, give educative help to acclimating children, accompany the sick etc. For that valiant strength to be realized as a catalyst of change, International Youth Cooperation ´s mission to introduce personal development and the importance of values, which help the young people sow their talents not only as their best person, but also paying attention to the needs of others, with high expectations for all of society is essential. If not, “we will find ourselves with a generation of competent young people without ideals” as our director, Rafael Herraiz told the newspaper ABC. Following this line of promoting volunteer work as authentic to young people; this year we´ve started a campaign directed to demonstrate real examples of youth committed to helping their community. Our motto, born from the campaign is “#LivingforOthers”. The campaign is a collection of various volunteer testaments highlighting the idea that one person chan change the world. Like everyone who supports us, from the weekly volunteer who spends time weekly with the elderly, to those who assist our events, are patrons of our work, or follow us on social media, every ONE who appears in the year in review –and the thousands who don´t- are important and essential. Because to change the world, there is only one thing missing: You. I want to finish by thanking all those who work day in and day out in a professional office and are dedicated to International Youth Cooperation, and all the companies, and public and private institutions, who have helped us make #LivingforOthers a reality.

Different studies show our critical spirit and servant conscience can be rekindled. According to the most recent survey by Millenial Branding, with American youth, 77% would like to be involved in some form of nonprofit.

International Youth Cooperation is the international branding for Cooperación Internacional ONG. Awarded the Gold Cross award, a civil service award from the Department of Social Services and the Ministry of Health, and it has been declared an entity of public use which has worked since 1993 for a “cooperative youth”.

The education institute is key in the development of a culture of social justice. For this reason, we hope to nurture a model of sustainable development and guarantee the integral education of these students as promising members of society. The objective is to involve family, school, and society to uncover the enormous potential of these students.

Through this program we work to give students a good education and formation of values throughout

primary, secondary, further education, and professional formation. This program offers adaptable tools for the specific needs of each center including programs such as Math together and the Education Olympics which also promote an atmosphere of volunteering. WWW.ESCUELASOLIDARIA.ORG

Along this line, INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION develops materials to encourage the idea of working for others from a young age. Our program, Open Motivation, is specifically catered towards 5th and 6thv grade students in hope that they pick up positive habits that last. This system also encourages family and school collaboration to achieve common goals amongst students.

EDUCATION OLYMPICS In 2015, the Education Olympics clocked in more than 530,349 hours of study to help improve

the children in Ecuador receive proper educational aids. Between November 5 and December 5, more than 54,000 students in 484 locations over 8 countries have participated in this learning initiative organized by Coopera, INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION , and ACTEC, with aid from Ibercaja. NEW TECHNOLOGIES CODE

AIR PLANET Taking care of the planet gets harder every day. Thanks to our sponsor Boeing and collaborator Air Europa, our project, Air Planet, reached 36 Spanish schools and over 1,900 students in 2015. Participants learned about climate change and what they can do to help through expositions and hands on workshops.

Started in Valladolid, this project aims to help young people get the maximum use out of technology while keeping balanced and rational usage in mind. Although it started with web education, the program has expanded to include all new types of technologies. The exposition has taken place so far in Madrid, Extremadura, País Vasco, Lisboa, Asturias, and Valladolid. WWW.NEWTECHNOLOGIESCODE.ORG

MATH TOGETHER

Thanks to this program, helping those who most need math tutoring is possible. Through this program, we convert good grades in math into Euros for social causes. During the 2014/15 school year, 3,224 students from 14 schools participated from different schools all over Spain.

SPORTS TOGETHER To help integrate the disabled, the Castilla y León region organizes a weekly soccer (football UK) training session in the center San Juan de Dios in Valladolid. 15 teens from the Club Deportivo Niara train the young athletes to compete.

FAIR PLAY SOCCER In Galicia, this program is helping to build values through soccer with the help of

Real Club Celta de Vigo´s Foundation. The objective is to nurture a healthy learning environment and cultivate responsibility from within the sports clubs, family, and the greater society around the children.

EXHIBITION WHAT DO YOU DO? Foundation Garrigou and INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION , with the help of the Ministry of Health, organized an exposition for schools. Based on the life of Jaime, a boy with Down Syndrome, the program aims to teach students that students with disabilities are just like them and have the same hopes, problems, and dreams. The program is established in eight schools and working to expand to more in the near future.

Since 2012, this center has served to further INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION ´s implementation of educative programs in institutions dedicated to the education of children in four fields: students, families, surroundings, and teachers. The Academic Committee of this Observation Center is formed by experts and professors from three European and Latin American universities. The program also counts on an Advisory Board to represent education programs aligned with School and Talent Program.

OBSERVATION CENTER FOR RESPONSIBLE EDUCATION

SCALE-UP Scale-Up looks to recognize the mentality of service cultivated by the youth during their most critical years of formation. Through this program, we hope to incentivize volunteering as a tool for self improvement and involvement in school and university life. Experiencing volunteer opportunities is increasingly important. Taking part in volunteer work shows how well you can serve and work with others in difficult situations. Through the Scale Up program, established in universities, dorms, and young people´s organizations, students can become more easily involved in an array of planned volunteer opportunities accredited by INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION .

SOCIAL INNOVATION INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION , since its beginning, has promoted in students, a creative and learning spirit with the vision of improving the needs of society. Social Innovation programs work, through the formation of young people, to give them the tools needed so they can be the advocates of change.

MAVERICKS Mavericks has continued another great year of supporting our programs in Galicia. As well as offering advice on marketing, education programs, legal questions, and more, the program has been successful with three formation sessions on the importance of leadership for parents, counselors, and other groups with leadership positions. Their projects include III Shortfilms Festival, Studio and Coaching, and Experiences Backstage for high school students, as well as programs specifically for mothers.

NEEDDO This program is designed to promote innovations amongst young people so they are filled with the tools to be the spark that causes social improvements. Through INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION , with the help of Iberdrola and Arana Aizpurúa Foundation, a small monetary award is given to the most impressive projects to help see them through.

III Foro 300 teens participated in September in the III Foro Needdo of Social Innovators held at Caixaforum. The projects of IES Joaquín Rodrigo, and Senara and Las Tablas schools from Madrid won this year´s prize. Three outstanding journalists, Daniel Seseña, Andrés Dulanto, and Juanjo Santacana won an award for their support of the program.

Workshop The winning projects were awarded a small start fund and could count on our help and support in the following months of November and December.

This program moved to promote the tolerance and respect of human rights. It works to reflect upon the fight against racism, xenophobia (prejudice against foreigners), and discrimination. To promote the cause, INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION started the campaign Living For Others which works because of the help of volunteers like Ignacio, Cayetana, Salva, Pilar, Enric, Ana, and others who promote the idea that to change

the world, only one thing is missing: YOU. #LIVINGFOROTHERS

ERASMUS + Volunteer Breakfasts

Erasmus is a platform that allows the backing of the EU through ICNET to be established and support project Scale Up, which works to develop more volunteer opportunities alongside our members through ICNET.

EXCELLENCE FORMATION We have multiple innovative programs throughout the year such as TedX Mirrasierra, Foro de Iniciativas Sociales(FIS), the Foro UNIV, Meeting international of Fatima (MIF), University trips to the Pyrenees, (JUP) and Segovia (JUS), encounters for a united youth in Valencia, and workshops for the development of leadership in youth based out of Galicia. Our Volunteers also help with the Youth Congress on Values in Sevilla, serving 1,200 people.

A FUTURE FOR THE CHILDREN This project promotes a higher academic performance and reinforcement for the youngest of students by strengthening their personal abilities as well as psychological and social abilities. This project currently takes place in Madrid, Badajoz, Sevilla, Zaragoza, and Valladolid.

Social Leadership Project falls under this umbrella and is carried out Monday through Firday in Zaragoza. The program combines academic help, sports, and volunteering. Over 80 students from 7 to 16 participated in this program, and over 80% were immigrants.

ACTION IN HOSPITALS

VOLUNTEERING Through volunteering, we aim to show volunteers, and society, that they can change the reality in their environment. We understand volunteering to be an attitude that shouldn´t be limited to a few hours a week, rather it should be a constant state of mind necessary for internal transformation and openness. Throughout the year, our volunteers apply themselves to various programs in and outside f Spain.

This area of volunteer work is very important and always takes place alongside hospital staff. Volunteers promise to spend time with long term patients, to play with the children, and to remind them to be a child multiple afternoons a week. Over 150 young people participate through Hospital La Paz in Madrid, in Clínico de Santiago de Compostela in Galicia through Hospilandia an initiative with over 400 participants, and in Clínico de Valladolid where the volunteers share their travel stories to places like El Salvador, Russia, Guatemala, and England.

DHN PROGRAM (Direct help to those in need) Operation Kilo with help from the Food Banks in different cities is just one of the many programs that help bring food and basic hygienic necessities directly to those who need them most. In Seville over the 2015 year, we distributed about 100,000 kilos of food and clothes to families

Based in Valladolid, this project aims to shrink the gap between generations through technology. In three residences 15 computers were installed and volunteers come every week to make repairs and explain different aspects to the residents.

BREAKFAST FOR ALL

Basket Solidario is an example of an initiative to teach social integration through basketball. In this program, 50 volunteers play basketball with recluses from a jail in A Lama (Pontevedre).

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION and Kellogg´s have joined forces to distribute breakfasts to schools with a high percentage of low income students . This initiative takes place in Madrid, Valencia, Valladolid, Seville, Zaragoza, Granada, and Almería.

Our goal was to provide 5,000 children with gifts for Christmas, but we passed it with a total of 7,706 presents distributed with the help of 28 companies an AXA and Imaginarium. The campaign included visits to the elderly, meals for the hungry, and more, impacting 11,670 people. All this couldn´t have been done without the help of

some 2000 young people who made it their mission assure that #UnaSonrisaporNavidad be a success.

PROJECT BROTHER Started in the region of Castilla y León, this program unites volunteers with children who suffer from mental paralysis through games and activities to eliminate social barriers.

Through collaborations with other groups, we have been able to send over 400 volunteers who donated their time during the summer months in 2015 to Peru, Uganda, Mexico, India, Morocco, Croatia, Albania, Romania, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, and Lithuania to help over 2,800 people.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEER DAY In 2015 we reached a record of participating cities, 10. This initiative is organized by INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION and Atresmedia in conjunction with Iberdrola. 1,000 volunteers from 44 companies took part in different volunteer activities throughout Madrid, A Coruña, Bilbao, Málaga, Seville, Valencia, Valladolid, Vigo, Zaragoza, and new this year Barcelona. @DIASOLIDARIO WWW.DIASOLIDARIO.COM

OBSERVATORY OF CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING OVC was first released in 2009 by INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION in conjunction with Iberdrola a member collaborator. Together they aim to reach the full potential of corporative volunteer work through formation and volunteer activities. With help from Voluntare and Universidad Austral OVC has worked on Corporate Volunteer Report for Iberoamérica which has 223 companies. At International Youth Corporation we believe corporative volunteering is a principal tool for the private sector to aid society as a whole. During 2015 over 42 companies such as Mutua Madrileña, Mapfre, Twitter, Disney, Deloitte, Citi, DKV, or Cetelem have trusted in us to provide volunteer opportunities for their employees. In different cities we have established 84 opportunities for 1,027 volunteers benefiting some 4,100 people in need. In this way, companies find ways to give back to their community through volunteering.

A group of 16 young people from the territorial region of Aragón formed this project to unite the smallest children of Bombay. In its fourth year, this initiative can now count on the support from Fundación Atlético de Madrid, Fuencampo, Caja Rural Teruel, Adidas, and Mercury. It benefits over 800 children from the Govandi slum where only 5% of people have access to potable water.

PERU. XVI AN INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY PROGRAM IN HUANCAVELICA Through the help of Huancavelica Program throughout the year, and a push from young people in Andalucía who participated in a volunteer camp, we were able to give out school supplies, accompany the elderly, build homes for families in distress and more. DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION sees working in developing communities, especially working with women, children, and young people, around the world as an amazing experience. These projects are carried out in such a way that locals are given the tools to continue the development and projects started with International Youth Cooperation , after they´ve left.

MEXICO. EDUCATION AND ASSISTANCE FOR MINORS PROGRAM I VALLE DE CHALCO A group of volunteers from Madrid have worked on this program in the outskirts of Mexico for over twenty years. Thanks to the Summer School for the boys and girls up to middle school volunteers are able to spend productive summers working with children. In collaboration with Educar A.C., different workshops and activities are created to promote intellectual development and reinforce the students´ capabilities in a safe and responsible environment.

They also participate in activities promoting the rights of children hoping to guarantee a right to education.

On one hand, this program was established to correct infantile abnormalities and promote healthy child development as well as helping those who weren´t able to have their impediments corrected live healthy and capable lives. On the other hand, the operation focuses on the safety of performing surgery on at risk children so they can life happy healthy lives.

This project is aimed at helping young people from the Lago Agrio and Cucumbios region who for the fourth year in a row have counted on the support of Fundación MAPFRE. The objective is to strengthen the capacities the young people have to peacefully resolve conflicts and guide their communities, promoting public political involvement favorable for the youth.

This program aims to train women over a year long period to have the tools they need to be capable in life and work. The program supports 125 women of which 60 will be able to help improve the development of women´s dignities in these rural communities.

To carry out it´s over 100 projects each year, INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION counts on the generosity of members, donors, and collaborating businesses. Throughout the year, numerous companies and entities support our cause. Public donations public also continue to be a large part of our financial support for projects. Iberdrola, Arana Aizpurúa Foundation and Obra Social la Caixa have financed the project Innovadores Sociales during the 2015 year. Along the educative responsibility front, Boeing has supported projects like Air Planet and Volando Juntos, while General Mills directly contributes to the Escuela Solidaria program. In the same way, Kellogg´s supports the Breakfast for better days and the Walt Disney Company helps through Mercadillo Solidario in support of our social programs which benefit the children most in need. Some of our special campaigns like A Smile for Christmas count on support from Axa and SEUR Foundation, or Operation Rehabilitate Homes which

counts on Fluor and OHL, or even the International Volunteer Program supported by the generosity of Annie Johansen Foundation. Other projects have been helped by companies like Asegurados Solidarios, Logifruit, Intelect Search, and Inbestia.

EVENTS Throughout the year, we organize a variety of events from workshops to sporting events to animate donors and engage collaborators for our projects. For example, our Golf Tournament at the Torrejón de Ardoz air base in Madrid, which is supported by Disney and Reparalia, or the III Golf Tournament in Valladolid which counted on 75 players from Castilla y León, Asturias, and Cantabria who showed support for A Smile for Christmas campaign.

Paddle fans also had the opportunity to participate in a friendly competition at the Sport Complex Alfafar in Valencia. In Madrid, there was a 16 team football tournament, the Fundaraising Soccer Cup, fighting to gain a one up on poverty. Throughout the year in Galicia, over

200 young people came together for various sports tournaments in A Coruña, Vigo, Santiago, and Pontevedra to support the volunteer project in Uganda. These tournaments were supported by schools and other benefactors to help support developing countries.
