August 8th Community Welcome Back Bash from 5pm-7pm at McClain Rogers Park August 15th: SW Open house and Parent University (In the SW Makerspace) ○ 2nd 5:15-5:45 ○ 3rd 5:45-6:15 ○ 4th 6:15-6:45 August 17th: First day of School August 22nd: Fall Pictures
Pick up and drop off routine ●

The gym will be open at 7:30am for kids that need to get here early. Please use one lane for drop off in the East parking lot. 4th graders will be picked up in the North parking lot after school. 2nd and 3rd graders will be picked up in the East parking lot (3 lanes).
A couple of things to remember, when in lines to drop off or pick up, to be safe and efficient. 1. Please don’t be on your cell phone 2. We have staff and volunteers outside to direct traffic. Please follow their instructions, give ‘em a wave, and a smile. 3. Please stay in your car to pick your kids up.

We are ready for the 2017 School Year at SW! We are excited that your child will get to continue their educational journey with us. Here are a few things that you can do to help get the year started out right. ●
Make sure that all phone numbers and addresses are up to date. We like to take pride in communicating with our SW parents.

Take time to check out the school and CPS website. Specifically be aware of our strategic plan. It will be a blueprint for all of the CPS campuses for the next 5 years.
●
Attend the Parent University meeting on August 15th. It will be packed full of details that will help us work together to help your child grow in a safe, healthy, and encouraging environment at SW
●
Take time to get to know your teacher. We have a great staff at SW and are always grateful for the support from our community. We want to work alongside of you to give SW kids an opportunity for a great education.

Rutina de dejar y recoger a los estudiantes ●

El gimnasio estará abierto a las 7:30 am para los niños que necesitan llegar temprano. Por favor, use un carril para dejar en el estacionamiento del Este. Los estudiantes de cuarto grado serán recogidos en el estacionamiento del Norte después de la escuela. Los estudiantes de 2do y 3er grado serán recogidos en el estacionamiento del Este (3 carriles).
Un par de cosas para recordar, cuando en las líneas de dejar o recoger, para ser seguro y eficiente. 1. Por favor, no estar en su teléfono celular 2. Tenemos personal y voluntarios afuera para dirigir el tráfico. Por favor siga sus instrucciones, déles una ola, y una sonrisa. 3. Por favor, quédese en su auto para recoger a sus hijos.

¡Estamos listos para el año escolar 2017 en SW! Estamos muy contentos de que su hijo llegue a continuar su viaje educativo con nosotros. Aquí hay algunas cosas que puede hacer para ayudar a que el año comience bien. ●
