The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for scientific research using neutrons. COMMUNICATION & EVENT MANAGER (m/f) to promote the Institute’s impact in existing and potential member countries using today’s communication media and toproduce events from conception through to completion.
Missions: Your main mission will be to work together with selected, high-level, ILL scientists, local universities and research organisations in particular countries in order to initiate events to enhance and broaden customer trust. Existing and potential new user groups will be targeted through web pages and social media and research areas will be addressed via dedicated roadshows and workshops. In addition, you will develop web pages to promote the overall benefit of being a member of the ILL and being able to use its infrastructure. Last but not least, you will participate in publicising and disseminating the achievements of FILL2030.
Duties : • Impact promotion through dedicated web-platforms and animation of an interactive forum for user community engagement; • Identify event opportunities and generate interest among current or new user communities (market research support); • Liaise with the targeted user communities to define their needs; • Plan events and manage all aspects, such as venue, invitee list, transportation, promotional material and safety requirements; • Participate in or carry out marketing activities to promote the events and ILL science and innovation with the help of other members of the ILL’s Communication Unit; • Provide feedback and periodic reports; • Ensure follow-up and implementation of project results dissemination, manage exploitation plan and web-calendar; • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience : • Master’s degree preferably in Communications, or solid experience in communications or event management; • Sound knowledge of written and spoken English; • Excellent organisational and time-management skills and attention to detail; • Project management experience; • Strong communication, teamwork and negotiation skills in an international environment; • Experience with web-based and related communication media; • Experience of being involved in or organising an international event; • Some experience of working in a scientific environment would be an advantage.
Language skills : As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. A French language course will be paid for by the ILL.
Notes : This post is a 3-year fixed-term contract.
