STEP 1: Turn off electricity at the main circuit breaker or fuse box. If the fan support box is to be installed between ceiling joists, install a phantom stud between joists, making sure the stud is securely fastened to the ceiling joists.
STEP 2: Position the fan support box in the desired position on the phantom stud or ceiling joist, the bottom of the stud (joist) should rest on the built-in step of the fan box to allow flush mounting with either 3/8″ or 1/2″ wallboard. Tap the 2 longer nails into the stud approximately 1/2″ then check the mounting position, and adjust as required. Hammer in Ringed Nails snug against the metal bracket, then the 2 longer nails firmly against the plastic nail supports. STEP 3: Remove the screws from the box assembly and follow fan or fixture installation instructions. The screws supplied must be used to secure the mounting bracket from the fan or fixture manufacturer. WARNING: The supplied screws must be used.
NOTE: Fans and fixtures up to the rated limit (below) may be attached directly to the box as indicated above. S120BFAN – Fans up to 70 lbs. WARNING: To avoid fire, shock and serious injury, the following instructions must be followed.

2. The S120 series ceiling fan boxes must be installed as indicated in these instructions for maximum safety and support. 3. All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local wiring practices.
4. If you are not experienced in electrical wiring, this ceiling box and fixture or fan should be installed by a licensed electrician.
INSTRUCTIONES DE INSTALLACION
PASO 1: Desconecta la electricidad en el disyuntor principal o en la caja de fusibles. Si la caja de apoyo del ventilador se va a instalar entre las vigas del techo, instale un montante fantasma entre las vigas, asequrándose de que el montante esté bien sujeto a las vigas del techo.
