Your Area Committee on Ministry (ACOM) needs your help! We need church members and clergy to serve as interviewers on Saturday, August 10th at FCC San Benito. These interview sessions are for ministers seeking to renew their commission and candidates seeking their first time commission.

A Preaching Intensive with Karoline Lewis The Gospel of John has been a perennial challenge for preachers, seemingly an "out-of-body" experience of Jesus. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Fourth Gospel insists that bodies matter and that faithful preaching tends the entirety of what it means to be human. This course will focus on how to preach John's unique voice in the canon, and in particular, how the incarnation matters deeply for a homiletic in our time. Presenter: Karoline M. Reboot is a project of SMU Perkins School of Theology designed to strengthen congregational ministries with youth. We work with churches within 300 miles of Dallas that do not currently have a full-time paid youth minister. In Phase One of the project, 18 congregations will be chosen to engage in a process whereby representatives from the whole church, including youth themselves, rethink youth ministry, from the ground up. In Phase Two, 12 of these 18 congregations will be chosen to receive funding (grants up to $12,000) and additional coaching to implement their new ideas. Selected congregations will, in turn, help other congregations that come along after them, by sharing what they discovered.
