Parents, Players & Coaches, Welcome to the 2016 DSAL Soccer season. We hope all of you enjoy the upcoming season. We ask that you all remember that we’re here as a community to celebrate the beautiful game. Please do your best in supporting a healthy and positive environment for our youth soccer players. Below are the main rules & policies for our soccer league. Any situations not covered by the below policies and final authority on the implementation of these rules are handled by our league director, Nick Lusson. League Standings Point System Standings are not kept for U6 & U8 • 3 points for a win • 1 point for a tie • 0 points for a loss If at the end of the regular season play a tie results between any two teams then the following tie-breaker criteria will come into effect. 1. Head to head competition between the teams that are tied (the team with the best record will advance). 2. The team with the fewest goals scored against it. 3. The team with the most goals scored (max of 6 goals differential per game). 4. The team with the greatest goal differential (goals scored – goals scored against) 5. Kicks from the mark. Good Sportsmanship Rule Points can be deducted from teams as a penalty for poor sportsmanship and any violations of the below code of conduct by coaches, players, parents or fans.

Heading Rules Per the new rules put in place this year by the US Soccer Federation… • Heading is not allowed in U12 or younger games • If a player heads the ball in these games then it’s an indirect kick for the opposing team. • If the header takes place inside the 18, then the indirect kick happens on the nearest line of the 18. • A header used to score a goal will result in that goal being disallowed and an indirect kick. • A header used to prevent a goal will result in an indirect kick.

Head Injury Protocol

Per the new rules put in place this year by the US Soccer Federation… • If a player has a suspected head injury (concussion type injury) then they must immediately be removed from the field of play. • They can only return to play once a licensed medical professional (doctor, nurse, athletic trainer, EMT) clears them to return. • If there is no licensed medical professional available then the player cannot return to play or practice until they’ve seen a doctor and gotten clearance. • The center official holds final authority on the need to remove players from the field of play due to suspected head injuries.

Playing Time Expectations

Every player on every DSAL team must play a minimum of one-half of every game unless the player is restricted for disciplinary or health reasons. If a player is to be restricted, then coaches are expected to clearly explain to the player and/or parent the reason for the restriction in playing time. Coed Rule – there is no set rule on how many female players need to be on the field at any given time. But those players are expected to get the same 50% playing time as all other players on the roster. Over-size rosters – If your roster is too large to provide the 50% playing time for all players then please do your best to provide fair playing time for everyone (drop it to 40% or 30% if needed). Player development & quality of experience is more important than winning games.

Uniforms All players must use the DSAL jersey to play. Any color of shorts & socks are acceptable. Each Goalkeeper's shirt shall be clearly distinguishable from all other players upon the field. We have previous year DSAL jerseys to give out to teams for use by their goalkeepers. All players must wear shin guards with socks covering them. Any legal soft toe soccer shoe provided for in the "Laws of the Game" shall be permissible. If a player does not have legal soccer shoes, he must play in tennis or gym shoes (canvas top with rubber or soft plastic type soles).

Rosters

Only players on your official roster are to be used for matches. If you don’t have enough players for the match then that game will be considered a forfeit win for the opposing team and you should then use guest players from either the opposing team or any other age-appropriate DSAL team (your age group or younger) to fill in so that a game can still take place. No unregistered players are allowed to participate in DSAL matches. Players may not change teams without the approval of the league director, Nick Lusson.

Conduct

Everyone present at DSAL soccer events are required to adhere to the following code of conduct. Failure to do so can lead to removal from our fields and possible removal from the DSAL program. • No foul or abusive language. • No drugs, alcohol or tobacco use in the park during games. • No referee abuse. Don’t complain about calls and no disrespect to the officials is allowed. • Our coaches are volunteers. Show them the respect & support that this role deserves. • Threats or acts of violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Regla de bien actitud Puntos pueden ser deducidos de los equipos como penal por mal comportamiento y viola iones del codigo de conducta por entrenadores, padres, o aficionados. Reglas de cabesiar Por las reglas nuevas puesto este año por la US Soccer Federation… • Cabesiar no es permitida en partidos de U12 y menos. • Si el jugador cabesea la pelota durante el partido esto sera untiro indirecto para el otro equipo. • Si el cabeseo pasa a dentro de la caja del portero, entonces el tiro indirecto pasa en la linea mas serca de la caja del portero. • Si la pelota es cabesiada para un gol resultara en el gol no contado y sera un tiro indirecto. • Cabesiando para prevenir un gol resultara en un tiro indirecto.

Lesiones de la Cabesa Por las nuevas reglas puestas este año por US Soccer Federation… • Si el jugador tiene una lesion de la cabesa imediata mente sera quitado del partido. • Solo pueden regresar a jugar encuanto un medico lisenciado (doctor, enfermera, entrenador atletico, EMT) los deja regresar al campo. • Si no hay un medico lisenciado entonces el jugador no puede regresar a jugar hasta que hagan hido a ver un doctor. • El albitro central tiene la autoridad final para remover jugadores del partido si tienen lesiones de la cabesa.

Tiempo para Jugar Cada jugador en los equipos de DSAL jugara un minimo de medio partido por juego excepto si estn restrinjidos por aciones desiplinarias o razones de salud. Si un jugador esta restringido, entonces el entrenador deben de poder explicad claramente la razon por que el jugador esta restringido.

Regla Coed – No hay una regla de cuantos jugadores femeninas tiene que ver en el campo. Pero estos jugadores estan esperados que juegen el mismo tiempo minimo que los otros jugadores.

Equipos llenos – Si su roster esta muy grande para poder jugar a cada jugador por 50% del tiempo porfavor baje el tamaño de tiempo jugaid a 40% o 30% si es necesario. Jugadores y la calidad de experancia es mas importante que ganar partidos.

Uniformes Cada jugador deve de usar una camiseta de DSAL para jugar. El color de los chores y calsetas no importa. Cada portero debe tener una camisa diferente de los otros jugadores en el campo. Tenemos camisas del año pasado para los porteros. Todos los jugadores deberian de usar espinilleras con calsetines cubriendo los. Cualquier zapato que esta apuntado en "las leyes del juego" estan permitidos. Si un jugador no tiene los zapatos legales, entonces tiene que jugar en zapatos del gimnasio o tennis ( zapato con goma abajo).

Rosters Solo jugadores en su roster official deben de ser usados para los partidos. Si no tienen suficientes jugadores para el partido entonces el partido no sera jugada y resultara en una ganancia para el otro equipo y otro equipo sera pursta para el juego. Jugadores que no estab registrados no pueden participar en partidos de DSAL. Jugadores no pueden cambiar equipos sin la aprobacion del director de la liga, Nick Lusson. l

Conducta Todos las personas presente en DSAL estan requeridas a conplacer con el codigo de conducta. Si no complace con las reglas van haver removidos del campo y posiblemente del programa. • No lenguaje abusiva. • No drogas, alchol, o uso de tabacco en el parque durante los partidos. • No abuso a los albitros. No se queje de lo que marquen y la falta de respeto a los albitros no es tolerada. • coachesNuestros entrenadores son voluntarios. Enseñelen el respeto y apoyo que ellos merecen. • Threats Amenasa o actos violentos no seran toleradas bajo ninguna circumstansia.
