The site is located approximately 2 miles to the south east of Southport town centre with access taken off either Town Lane or Town Lane Kew. Southport is large seaside town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton some 16 miles north of Liverpool and 15 miles south west of Preston.
The site is within the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton. Planning permission for the construction of 110 residential units comprising 99 houses for sale, a block containing 8 special care apartments, 2 wheelchair access bungalows and a 5 bedroom supported living house was approved in February 2013 under reference S/2012/0008.
