Think about this! Excused and Unexcused absences have the same negative effect on student academic performance. When a student improves attendance, they improve their chances of graduating. During the month of January we will be very actively encouraging great attendance. The 3 classes that have the best on time percentage and the 3 classes that have the best attendance will receive a reward at the end of the month. Remember, one solid predictor of school success is Good Attendance!

John Paul II Academy Carnival Planning for the 2nd Annual John Paul II Academy Family Carnival has begun and we need your help! We are looking for individuals to join the planning team - Mom & Dads, Grandparents, Siblings, Friends and more! Note: you do not need to attend the carnival to help plan. Help is needed in many areas - raffle baskets, food, ticket sales, donations, communications, etc. The carnival will be held on May 4th, 2018 but there is work to be done now! 8th Graders St. Catherine's Admissions is hosting a Cosmic Bowling night for all current 8th graders at St. Rita, St. Lucy, St. Joe's, Our Lady of Grace and John Paul II. The event will take place at The Lanes on 20 from 4-6:30pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. There will be free rental of bowling shoes, bowling, pizza party and prizes. No cost to the student. Winter STAR Testing John Paul II Academy, along with the other Siena Catholic Schools, will be administering the Early Literacy assessment and the Star Reading assessment from January 8 - January 12, 2018, and the Star Math assessment from January 15, 2017 - January 19, 2018. This second administration of the STAR assessment will continue to provide information on individual student growth in the areas of Reading and Math, and help the teachers plan instruction.
