HOLY FAMILY CATHEDRAL EASTER BLESSINGS The Holy Week brings us to the central mystery of our faith— the passion, death and the resurrection of Jesus. It draws us closely to the “heart” of God. It reveals to us that the cross, though a “stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles,” (1 Cor 1:23) is for those who believe “the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Cor 1:24). The cross manifests to us God’s standard of loving and His way of loving us. The “power of God” that St. Paul proclaims (1 Cor 1:24) is unleashed in the resurrection of Jesus. The seeming failure of the cross turns into a manifestation of God’s glory. He is alive. This is our faith. This means, in the words of Ron Rolheiser, OMI, that “to believe in the resurrection of Jesus is to be comforted, comforted at a level so deep that nothing in life is any longer ultimately a threat. In the Resurrection, the hand of God soothes us and the voice of God assures us, frightened children that we are, that all is good and that we all will remain good forever and ever...The resurrection is something that buoys up every moment of life and every aspect of reality. God is always making new life and undergirding it with a goodness, graciousness, mercy, and love that, in the end, heals all wounds, forgives all sins, and brings deadness of all kinds to new life.” We wish you abundant blessings. With our love and prayers, Fr. Patrick Moses, Fr. Rudy Alumam and Fr. Aaron Riomalos, AM and the Holy Family Cathedral Staff PS: Please note, our office closures of 4/19 Good Friday and 4/22 Easter Monday. A

Are you being called to serve?
NEW PIANO IN OUR HALL
Every weekend approximately 200 volunteers are needed to fill the various roles in preparing and serving the Mass. Have you considered the gi s and/or talents that God has given to you? What about using those gi s to serve at the mass you a end?
The parish recently purchased a Kawai upright piano for the hall to be used for our Christmas and Easter liturgies, along with other parish events. Prior to this, we were spending $600 twice a year, to hire movers to move the piano from Room 1/2 to the hall. The piano does not fit through the doors, so this requires removing the legs. The piano was reassembled in the hall, then a er the services, the same thing was done to return the piano back to Room 1/2. Removing the legs of the piano four mes a year caused undo distress; it has also affected the quality and endurance of the piano. We had an opportunity to purchase the new Kawai piano at a discounted price of $4,500 and are excited to use it at this year’s Easter services. If you would like to make a dona on toward the new piano, please contact Kim Wargo, Director of Worship, at email
[email protected] or (714) 639-2900, ext 128. Any dona on will be greatly appreciated.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas: Sacristan ● Altar Server ● Eucharis c Minister Lector ● Linens ● Choir Members ● Environment Money Counters ● Retreat Team Kitchen Hospitality (Ushers, Greeters, Outside Hospitality) We ask you to pray about this opportunity to become closer to not only your Holy Family Cathedral Parish Community, but also to Our Lord himself, in serving those around you.

We invite you to express your interest by visi ng the outside hospitality table and filling out a “Ministry Interest/Contact Form” or contac ng Liturgy Coordinator Ross Moodie, email
[email protected] He is Risen...we know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) All women in the parish are invited to come to our weekly bible study held on Monday nights at 7pm in the Hall. No ma er where you are in your faith, it’s a chance to meet other women and deepen your rela onship with Christ. Our annual retreat is June 8th from 9am to 3:30pm. Please contact Lisa Rezner (
