IMMEDIATE IMPLANTS PLACED AFTER EXTRACTION OF TWO LOWER INCISORS CAUSED BY HORIZONTAL FRACTURE, A CLINICAL CASE Pimentel V.S. DDS, Soto S.V. DDS, Ríos S.E. MScD
Clinical Case:
Objective: To demonstrate an alternative treatment for teeth with a horizontal fracture and a hopeless prognosis.
•
The main indication for immediate implants is the replacement of teeth with conditions not amenable to treatment.
•
Immediate implants showed a high success rate of 92.7% - 98.0%. Fig. 4

•
Surgical requirements for immediate implants include extraction as trauma-free as possible, preservation of extraction socket walls, and alveolar curettage to eliminate pathological material.
•
After tooth extraction and implant placement, the patient showed an improvement in terms of comfort. At the one month follow-up appointment, the patient did not report any discomfort.
Conclusion:

When an extraction is indicated, immediate implants reduce the time to complete rehabilitation, as well as these reduce bone resorption of the residual socket, and avoid the need for a second surgical intervention.
