INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN (m/f) Job Description: You will become a member of the ILL’s Services for Advanced Neutron Environment (SANE) responsible for the Institute’s sample environment equipment and its cryogenic systems in particular. You will mostly be working in the laboratory and experimental areas on the following tasks: • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and configure equipment in consultation with your colleagues & manager • Assist colleagues and scientists to ensure the smooth operation of the experiments • Take part in the development of new equipment • Produce and update technical documentation • Provide occasional assistance with internal training. Your profile We are looking for dynamic and passionate candidates with the following skills: • NVQ Level 3 or 4 degree in applied physics or in mechanical engineering • A few years of professional experience • Real desire to acquire more technical skills e.g. in brazing, TIG welding, or industrial drawing… • Knowledge in cryogenics, high pressure/temperature & vacuum techniques (helium leak detection, etc.).

Your personal skills • Good interpersonal skills to work as part of a team and with users • Good organisational skills • Service-oriented approach.

Language skills : As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. A French language course will be paid for by the ILL. Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
