LAAS at Obesity Week 2013 Please plan to join your colleagues at Obesity Week 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia November 11-16. Early-bird registration is scheduled to open April 1, 2013. LAAS Meeting The Latin American Affairs Section will hold their business meeting and symposium on Thursday, November 14 from 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center during Obesity Week 2013. Abstract Submissions The abstract submission site for Obesity Week is scheduled to open the beginning of May and will close June 15. Be sure to submit your abstracts and indicate if you would like to participate in the LAAS student poster competition.

Español Semana de Obesidad de la Sección de Asuntos Latinoamericanos 2013(LAAS): Por favor planee en unirse a sus colegas en la Semana de la Obesidad 2013 en Atlanta, GA del 11 de Noviembre al 16 de Noviembre. Inscripciones tempranas están programadas a abrir el 1 de Abril del 2013. Presentaciones Resúmenes: El sitio de presentaciones abstractas para la semana de la Obesidad está programado a abrir al principio de Mayo y cerraran el 15 de Junio. Asegúrese de presentar sus resúmenes e indicar si querrá participar en la competencia de posters de estudiantes de LAAS.

Programs for 2013 LAAS During the second period of 2012-2013 LAAS activities, LAAS leaders have analyzed the remaining funds from 2012, from which we could secure the following goals: 1. Prof. Abdul G Dulloo has officially accepted our invitation to provide a lecture entitled 'Thrifty metabolism in catch-up growth trajectories to later obesity and the metabolic syndrome.' 2. With the remaining funds, we could secure expenses incurred in the invitation of Prof. Dulloo and sponsor registration of 10 students participating in the meeting. The students that are selected to recieve registration sponsorship will be based on the 10 best LAAS abstract/poster. Español Programa de Actividades de la LAAS para el 2013: Segunda Comunicación Durante este segundo cuatrimestre los líderes de LAAS han analizado los recursos restantes de 2012, con lo que se puede asegurar para el Congreso de 2013: 1.
