9. Connect wires from the original installation to the screwless wiring connector (F) as follows: Wire “F” to connector terminal “F”, wire “T” to connector terminal “T” and wire “R” to connector terminal “R” if installed (See Figure 3).

INSTALL DOORBELL Wired Installation: IMPORTANT: Proper installation requires a diode on the front door push button. (See step 9).

Note: Wiring connections must comply with local or national electrical codes. Note: If wiring the transformer, be sure house power is turned off. 1. Verify transformer power rating. Power must be supplied with a 16 Volt AC, 10 Watt or a 16 Volt AC, 15 Watt transformer (Transformer not included). For use with NuTone transformer C909. 2. Remove cover from existing chime. 3. Label all wires before disconnecting relative to the markings on the current transformer. • “F” – Front Push Button Wire • “T” – Transformer Wire • “R” – Rear Push Button Wire (If Installed) 4. Disconnect all wires from existing chime and remove current doorbell mechanism from wall. 5. To remove the cover, simply grip the doorbell base (A) with one hand and pull the cover (B) off (See Figure 1).

11. Install the push button at the desired door. a. Drill a 3/4” (19 mm) hole, 1” (25.4 mm) deep in the selected mounting location. The hole must be straight and level for the push button to fit properly. Use masking tape to mark the required depth on the drill bit. b. Insert the push button assembly into the mounting plate fully and attach the two wires to the push button. c. Insert the mounting plate and push button assembly in the drilled hole and secure the plate with two provided screws. 12. Select front door tune (See “Select a Tune” on next page). 13. Install cover (B) on doorbell base by placing it over the base (A) and pressing down. A “click” will confirm that it is securely attached (See Figure 1).

Bring wires through the circular wire hole (C) in new doorbell base (See Figure 2). Note: Batteries should not be installed if using a Wired installation.

Wireless Installation:

This doorbell mechanism requires 3 “D” alkaline batteries for wireless operation (not included). WARNING: Keep batteries out of the reach of children. 1. If the chime is not connected to transformer wires (See Wired Installation), insert 3 alkaline “D” batteries (A) in battery compartment. Make sure batteries are oriented properly (see Figure 5).

Slide battery cover on wireless push button assembly to the rear to open and remove plastic pull tab to energize factory installed battery. Close battery cover. Press the push button to confirm the doorbell mechanism and push button work properly. If the chime does not sound: a. Confirm that the frequency code settings in the doorbell mechanism and wireless push button are the same. Jumpers installed on the numbered contacts on the doorbell mechanism must match the dip switch toggles turned to the ON position in the wireless push button. b. Verify proper installation of batteries in door bell mechanism and pushbutton. c. Check condition of batteries in door bell mechanism and pushbutton. Replace if required. If the chime does not sound with fresh batteries: a. The chime or push button is mounted on or near stucco or metal studs, reducing transmitter range. Use wood shims to raise chime or push button 1/4” to 1/2” from surface. b. Concrete floors may also reduce transmitter range. Move chime away from concrete floor. c. Install chime mechanism closer to wireless push button. 3. Remove batteries from mechanism. 4. Mount chime base to wall using screws and anchors provided (See “Wired Installation” step 9 on page 1). 5. After mounting chime base to wall, install batteries. 6. Select the preferred doorbell notification sound (See “Select a Tune” on this page). 7. Install cover on doorbell mechanism (See “Wired Installation” step 12 on page 1). 8. Install the wireless push button at the desired door. a. Drill a 3/4” (19 mm) hole, 3-1/2” (89 mm) deep in the selected mounting location. The hole must be straight and level for the push button assembly to fit properly. Use masking tape to mark the required drill depth on the drill bit. b. Insert the push button assembly into the mounting plate fully. c. Insert the mounting plate and push button assembly in the drilled hole and secure the plate with two provided screws.

MANAGE DOORBELL NOTIFICATION Upload Tunes:

1. Disconnect wires attached to the door bell mechanism screwless wiring connector and remove any batteries installed. 2. Insert a USB Mini cable end into the doorbell mechanism USB jack (A). (See Figure 6).

4. On your WINDOWS computer, • Select “Start” in the bottom corner of your Desktop. • Select “My Computer” • Select the new device detected. (The drive D:”, “E:”, etc. will vary from computer to computer). • Select the device. • You will now see a window that contains several mp3 files. These are the tunes that are pre-installed on your doorbell mechanism. • Search your computer for other mp3 songs that you wish to play on your doorbell mechanism when activated. Note: Files must be in mp3 format. • Once you have located those files, simply “COPY” the file and “PASTE” it into the folder that contains the pre-installed doorbell files. • Confirm that the transfered files are complete. Remove the USB cable and either install the wiring (for Wired Installation) or insert batteries (for Wireless Installation).

Select a Tune:

The four button switch and indicator LED (B) on the door bell mechanism are used to select the desired tunes for the door bell. (See Figure 6). 1. Make sure that the doorbell mechanism is powered (batteries or wiring). 2. Press “FS” to cycle through the tunes for the front door bell station. 3. Once the tune is selected, the length of time that it plays can be adjusted to one of four durations: · Press the “CUT” button one to fours times to select the play time desired (5, 10, 20 seconds or the full song). · The desired play time is indicated by the LED indicator as outlined in the table below: Length of Tune Played

Wireless Door Chime Accessory Transmitter This Package includes: • Door chime button • Battery You will need a screwdriver and other tools depending on how the button is mounted.

ADDITIONAL DOOR CHIMES When installing other Wireless Door Chime sets, remember to set switches to different settings to avoid interference. If you want them to all ring at the same time, set them to the same frequency code.

Product Features include: • Battery powered transmitter - No wires to run. • Channels are selectable to allow more than one door chime to ring at the same time. To get the most out of this product, please read these instructions carefully.

INSTALLATION 1. Install battery. Remove the cover from the side of the chime button case. Lift the case up and away from the back. Install battery (supplied). 2. Set the frequency code to match your door chime. Make sure that the frequency set matches on both the button and chime. Replace cover removed in Step 1. 3. Before mounting, test the range. Put the chime and the button where you want to mount them and then press the button. 4. Mount chime button. Drill 3/4” diameter x 3-1/2” deep hole at chime button location. Insert button into escutcheon and use provided hardware to install.

OPERATION Press the door chime button to verify that the button and chime work properly. When the button is pressed, the chime should sound. If it doesn’t, check that the frequency codes are set the same and that the alkaline batteries are fresh.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT Chime Replace batteries following door chime instructions. Button Open button case (see Step 1). Replace battery with one N Cell, 1.5V alkaline battery. Close button case.

TROUBLESHOOTING The range of the door chime depends on location, temperature and battery condition. If you are having problems with this product, please try the solutions listed below. Chime rings on its own: • A neighbor may have a wireless chime set with the same frequency jumper settings. Change the chime and button frequency jumpers. Chime doesn’t sound: • Make sure the button and the chime jumpers are set the same. • Replace the button battery. Also check chime batteries. Batteries are OK, but chime does not work when installed: • Mounting the chime or button directly on metal, concrete or near metal studs reduces the range. • Do not mount the chime too close to ground level concrete slabs which may also reduce the range. Mount the chime away from the floor. • Try different locations for the chime closer to the button. Also, try to orient the chime at a different angle to increase the range. Instalación inalámbrica:

Cierre la cubierta de las baterías. Presione el botón para confirmar que el mecanismo del timbre y el botón funcionan adecuadamente. Si el timbre no suena: a. Confirme que los ajustes del código de frecuencia en el mecanismo del timbre y en el botón inalámbrico sean iguales. Los puentes instalados en los contactos numerados en el mecanismo del timbre deben coincidir con los del interruptor DIP colocados en la posición ON (encendido) en el botón inalámbrico. b. Verifique la instalación adecuada de las baterías en el mecanismo del timbre y en el botón. c. Verifique la condición de las baterías en el mecanismo del timbre y en el botón. Reemplace si se requiere. Si el timbre no suena con baterías nuevas: a. El timbre o el botón están montados sobre o cerca de montantes de estuco o de metal, lo cual reduce el alcance del transmisor. Use calzas de madera para subir el timbre o el botón de ¼ a ½ pulg. (0.6 a 1.2 cm) de la superficie. b. Los pisos de concreto también pueden reducir el alcance del transmisor. Aleje el timbre del piso de concreto. c. Instale el mecanismo del timbre más cerca del botón inalámbrico. 3. Retire las baterías del mecanismo. 4. 4. En su computadora WINDOWS: • Seleccione “Inicio” en la esquina inferior de su escritorio. • Seleccione “Mi computadora”. • Seleccione el nuevo dispositivo detectado (la unidad “D:”, “E:” etc., va a variar de una computadora a otra). • Seleccione el dispositivo. • Ahora verá una ventana que contiene varios archivos mp3. Son las melodías instaladas previamente en el mecanismo de su timbre. • Busque en su computadora otras canciones mp3 que desee reproducir en el mecanismo de su puerta cuando se active. Nota: Los archivos deben estar en formato mp3. • Una vez que haya localizado esos archivos, simplemente “copie” el archivo y “péguelo” en la carpeta que contiene los archivos del timbre previamente instalados. • Confirme que los archivos transferidos estén completos. Retire el cable USB e instale el cableado (para la instalación con cables) o inserte las baterías (para la instalación inalámbrica).

Selección de una melodía:

Para seleccionar las melodías deseadas para el timbre, se utilizan el interruptor de cuatro botones y el indicador LED (B) en el mecanismo del timbre. (Vea la figura 6). 1. Asegúrese de que el mecanismo del timbre tenga energía (con baterías o con cableado). 2. Presione “FS” para desplazarse por las melodías para la estación del timbre de la puerta principal. 3.
