Following the example of our patron saint, John, in the sharing of God’s word and love, we serve others. Using our individual gifts, we are called to grow in love, spirituality and unity. Through God’s grace and the effort of all, we accomplish this mission.

CHURCH CALENDAR & MASS INTENTIONS

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi): When an event is especially important, we repeat it in the form of a ritual. It gives all the opportunity to participate while it heightens its significance. We see rituals in all three readings. From Melchizedek and Abram to Jesus and the multitudes, food is shared and God’s blessing is invoked. Looking forward to today’s celebration of the Eucharist, let us take note of the elements of this ritual in today’s readings.

Today as we celebrate the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ, we hear Jesus ask his disciples, “Why do you not give then something to eat yourselves?” And he shows them how by the multiplication of the five loaves and two fishes. As you donate to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, know that through your donation the miracle of the loaves and fishes will happen again and the hungry will be fed. Basic Teachings of the Catholic Faith The Basic Teachings of the Catholic Faith Program offers a general introduction to the theological principles found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This program serves as the first step in basic adult formation for all ministry groups that seek evangelization and catechetical certification. The coursework includes; Introduction to Scripture; Creed; Liturgy and Sacraments; Christian Morality; Prayer and Spirituality. For more information or to register contact the Parish Office.
